LSU still 2 in polls (2 Viewers)

I think LSU is a better team than USC, but I doubt Nebraska will be much competition.

Btw, where are all the Mississippi teams in the rankings? Old Mrs? State? eyuuu ess emmm? :smilielol:

Maybe Alcorn will end up getting some votes? Oh wait, they're 0-2! And Mississippi Valley State? Only 1-1. Jackson State? Oh yeah, they'er 0-2 also.

:smilielol: Best football in the nation played in the state of Mississippi.

I actually think that LSU being voted #1 is the worst thing that could happen to us... Let the media and coaches continue underestimating them, keep showering USC with love and let the Tigers ride all the way to the Dome in January with that chip on their shoulder...

Ditto to the nth degree!

USC vs. LSU in the NC in New Orleans.
LSU wins and proves once and for all(to the doubters), they ARE the better team.:ezbill:

I hope we do play SC for the NC so it can be clear who #1 is this time. I am biased to think that LSU should be #1 right now, but I really can't think of a legit reason why not. SC's schedule is tough as far as the ranked teams they play on the road while we play ranked teams at home, but LSU is just flat out dominating.

Does it really matter?

If LSU does it job and remains number 2 they'll still play for the NC...who cares if they are 1 or 2 going into it.

The reason 1 vs. 2 matters is getting into the game in the first place. When you're #1, 2 teams have to jump you to knock you out of the game. When you're #2, only one team has to jump you to knock you out.

If Oklahoma or WVU (I'd say Florida, but that's going to take care of itself head on between LSU and UF) keeps beating people by 50 and start gaining ground, if LSU's #1, USC is the one getting knocked out first. If LSU is #2, LSU gets knocked out first.

That's why it's important.

If LSU continues to play like they did this weekend, they will likely leap frog USC for the top spot. That being said, if USC does come out and blows out their own ranked opponents then USC will probably hang out to the top spot. But if both teams play like that then their won't be a doubt come BCS selection.

I'll use this as another time to state that to me is the downfall of preseason polling. It "locks" teams into spots they shouldn't be and forces other teams to go above and beyond to overtake them.

Couldn't have said it better. :9:

You might have reread it and fixed the grammar and sentence structure before posting. :covri: :hihi: There should be a this in there after the me.

From someone who doesnt like LSU, I really think they deserve to pass USC this week. If it came down to the NC and they play in the Dome I really like LSUs odds even though I would be pulling aginst them. If you play it at a netural site it could go either way and I would feel a lot more confident in SC. LSU impressed the hell out of me saturday...and I hate that :hihi:

As long as LSU and USC don't lose, I don't see them getting jumped over by anyone.

I think i see another LSU vs. OU National Championship, i think USC over hyped and LSU is a much better team. But of corse the LSU vs. OU national championship will be the same outcome as the last one :9:

I was thinking the same thing. OU and LSU are both very identical to the teams they were in 03.

OU has Sam Bradford (Jason White) throwing to Malcolm Kelly (Mark Clayton) with a solid group of runningbacks to take some of the pressure off. And just like 03 they have a very good defense with DeMarcus Granger looking like a young Tommie Harris and Curtis Lofton playing like Teddy Lehman. Not sure who their Derrick Strait is though I know Nic Harris hits like Roy Williams

Then theres LSU. Matt Flynn (Matt Mauck) throwing to Early Doucet (Michael Clayton) with Brandon LaFell (Devery Henderson) having a breakout year and a great stable of running backs in Keiland Williams, Charles Scott, and Jacob Hester (Justin Vincent, Alley Broussard, and Joseph Addai). The defense led by All-American Glenn Dorsey (Chad Lavalais) and future 1st rounder Tyson Jackson (Marcus Spears) are the best in the nation. Only thing is we are much stronger at both the LB and DB positions than in 03.

Looks about right to me

All I know is that if it's LSU/OU in the Superdome again, ABC/ESPN/Nokia better damn well get Snoop Dogg signed up again for the halftime entertainment/product-placement extravaganza.

Snoop in an LSU jersey with USC nowhere to be found =
