Madden NFL 11 - Top Players at each position (1 Viewer)

I do think Greer should have been in the top 11.

Everything else looked about right. Stinch being the best surprised me.

How so? When you have the second and eight best ratings against the pass, that's not only production but elite territory. When you only give up one touchdown combined, and that touchdown came on a play that could have very well been called offensive pass interference, then you are definitely playing at a high level. When Porter and Greer were playing, our defense ranked in the top 10 and Sharper was having a defensive MVP type year. When they went down, our defensive production dropped and Sharper's play declined. I fail to see homerism here. Otherwise, I might be asking why Reggie, Pierre, Colston, Shockey, Goodwin, Ellis or Harper are not in the top 10 at their respective positions. I think a strong case can be made for Greer and Porter.

Same with Morstead. My suspicion with Morstead is that it'll take another year for him to play well, and begin to gain some attention around the league. But he was money last season, especially at ball placement and generating touchbacks. Maybe you just missed some of the games.

I was moreso referring to your assertion that Morstead belonged in the top 10. He's played on year in the league, and in that one year he ranked 19th in punting avg. and tied for 31st in net avg. which I know has a lot to do with kick coverage but still. He also only managed to down 18 punts inside the 20 whereas Ben Graham for example had 42 punts downed inside the 20(albeit on about 28 more punts) but still it's a much more impressive average. So to assert that Morstead belongs in the top ten based on one year of performance where he did pretty well on kickoffs but fairly average in punting, is homerism of the highest order. He was great on kickoffs and at generating touchbacks, but that alone doesn't grant you top 10 status, especially after only one year.

Jared Allen is not the best defensive end in football.. rating him a 99 is a joke

He is top 3 I will give him that but, no way is he the best...there really are no DE's that deserve a 99 rating.

Legitimate complaints...

-Colston isn't even ranked....isn't even ranked...yeah...his numbers are better than Marshalls yet Marshall is a dozen places higher...I guess he should get more DUI's, throw tanrums, and be a ****ty teammate if he wants to be ranked higher.

-Heath Evans should be up there

-Huchinson isn't even a top 3 LG any more...I guess with a great career you always get overrated as you get older though...so I can live with that but, Nicks was at the very least a top 2 LG.

-to be fair Stinch is a little high I guess but, he is still a top RT in this league. top 5 easily

-Vilma WAY too low

-Neither of our corners are ranked...really? so the best CB tandem in the league in which both guys forced below 60 QB ratings are not top 7?

-Too be fair again Sharper is probably a few spots too high(but, same thing as Hutch)

Colston is the only thing that really ****** me off, mainly cause it shows how guys get rewarded for being scrumbags when it comes to getting overrated. Greer not being on there is a bit ridiculous too

Best Madden Trailer ever

Top 10 Receivers:

Andre Johnson (HOU) – 98
Larry Fitzgerald (ARI) – 97
Brandon Marshall (MIA) – 96
Reggie Wayne (IND) – 96
Randy Moss (NE) – 95
Roddy White (ATL) – 93
Steve Smith (CAR) – 92
DeSean Jackson (PHI) – 91
Calvin Johnson (DET) – 91
Wes Welker (NE) – 91
Anquan Boldin (BAL) – 91

Where the hell is Colston? No way is Roddy White and Wes Welker better than #12.

definitely agree with that last statement but its really hard to judge Allen.. put Will Smith on that defensive line with the Williams' and tell me he doesnt come out looking like an all pro

The ones that really stand out are a out of their prime #2 possession receiver and a dancer being ranked higher than him. Welker is basically just a better Boldin at this point and White is solid(well at least when the refs let him molest Jabari greer)...

That is true but, watching the guy it seemed like he was making huge plays one on one every week(especially early in the year) I think Freeny is probably at least better than him. He is a top DE though and he is much better than Smith against the run. He did have just about the best year so I guess he deserves it. Actually looking over the names...I will say he is a top 2 DE for sure. Don't have a huge problem with that. Definitely doesn't desearve a 99 though.

Actually that list is pretty spot on. Colston's probably in the 88-90 range, which is fair.

I'm more annoyed with the defensive rankings. Jabari Greer and Tracy Porter should be 96 and 92 respectively.

Garrett Hartley too. He should have at least an 89.

Colston not being on there sucks...

I'm sure he and Jabari Greer are both in the 90s, though.. Porter should be in the 90s as well, but he probably won't be..
