Marcus Freeman. ND head coach. (1 Viewer)

I think Freeman is great!!!… so long as he’s playing against a crippled team with a 1st time starting QB, and the refs in his pocket… and NOT against Northern Illinois at South Bend.

Gimme a Freakin break! This game was a farce! As a Saints fan, you have to know what “the fix” looks like! WAKE TF UP!
Michigan beat Ohio St, and the Ohio St alumni were ready to fire their head coach. Then they smoke Oregon and look poised to be the eventual National Champs. Sports be like that.

I mean, it's still UGA, and the QB actually played alright. Just a lot of dropped passes and ND was winning in the trenches all night. And special teams did UGA no favors. ND played a solid game in every phase.

We'll see if they keep it up, but I don't think it's a fluke at all.
No, they are a good team, but looking at these teams that remain, none of them look dominant. They are all just really good teams.

Watching ND tonight and a few times during the year. Well coached team. Substitutions, special teams. Hes young, good defensive mind. Im thinking he be nice get as HC
A team wins a big game on national TV and their coach or QB becomes a hot need for Saints.

Silly. All 4 of the top seeds got spanked. This guy didn't do anything that anyone else hasn't done. And before you say "it was Georgia!", their offense has not been good at all this season. Kentucky shut them down and nearly beat Georgia with a crippled, empty jersey offense. In truth, Deone Walker single handedly nearly beat Georgia, carrying majority of the defense, and a high school level offense (exaggerating, but not by too much).

Sure, there weren't any truly dominant teams in CFB this year. That happens every now and then.

I will say though, if tOSU keeps playing like they have lately, they'll win and it won't be close.

Personally a lot of those teams got into the playoffs based off of their records. I’m still in the camp, that some SEC teams would’ve faired better (competitively) in some of those matchups. I’m biased though
I agree only SEC and Big 10 are legitimate. Boise State had no business getting a Bye or being in the playoffs. They don't play anyone. I don't believe in the so called it's fair to give every power conference a shot

There are so many layer and reasons why they went to this playoff system. I am still convinced that a 3 or 4 loss SEC team would’ve boat raced some of those teams, but they didn’t want to see that. Ultimately, I’d like to see more teams join the SEC (not many), and they create their own super league

I agree on the SEC strength overall. ND can compete on the same level as elite SEC teams in the NIL era though. They have a huge national following and lots of fans and alums willing to spend money for recruits and portal transfers.

They also have an easier path to the 12 team playoffs each year compared to the SEC teams cannibalizing each other every season.

Edited to add: if Freeman keeps this same momentum long term, he will have a situation even better than Bobby Bowden had dominating in the weak-arse ACC for decades and getting an easy path to the championship in the old BCS era.

Why not? Hes young, can relate to todays athlete. I get the vibe he can get the most of a roster.
Why not?

He'd be a college coach walking into a dumpster fire that probably won't get put out for at least 2-3 seasons at best.

The Saints HC position is not a very attractive offer right now for even a mediocre coach.

Correct.
I’ll add that bc if their following and NIL collective, they get supreme talent transferring in. Those dudes had 12 transfers that contributed to their wins in the playoffs. Thats crazy.
Marcus doesn’t need to leave and why someone would even ponder the thought of him leaving ND is beyond me?!?!
