Marvel getting desperate (1 Viewer)

I've never watched any Fantastic 4 movie. does this alter or have any bearing on if it's male or female?
Probably not - depending on how much back story they’re going to give (SS did some messed up things for Galactus before they came to earth) - it might be cool seeing a female SS preparing worlds for Galactus to eat

Not really imo. It all depends on who they cast and if they do an origin story.
I can only watch the first. And that's only to watch Jessica Alba sashay in with that tight-fitting jumpsuit.
I'll watch anything Jessica Alba in it. Yes I will.

If they do that then they would have to completely alter the entire story of the Silver Surfer and Norrin Radd.

Just because Norrin Radd was named after a male scientist(Norrin Konn) on his home world that was responsible for pulling their society out of barbarism.

Rather than change everything about who Silver Surfer is and alienating his many fans, create a strong female protagonist in the film like Nova, who the Silver Surfer actually saves from a planet in the 1987 comic reiteration. Nova was also a herald of Galactus and would make perfect contextual sense.

I would honestly hate to see the MCU use the panderstone on Silver Surfer.

I mean, I don't disagree. Certainly comics readers and purists are going to want to keep the character intact, but if they do go with a female SS, the origin story would obviously need to be changed.

I for one would leave the story familiar to fans intact and do the female antagonist as you suggested.

Whatever they do, I'll give it a chance because Marvel overall has a lot of goodwill in my book. Not quite post Endgame levels, but still pretty high.

Was anyone really aware of Iron Man before the movie?
Heck, when you look back Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk were both overshadowed because they were released during the summer of The Dark Knight.

Not gonna lie. I wasn't. When it first came out, I thought it was a Mega Man movie based on the Nintendo game. I didn't even catch up to the hype and go back watch the first 3 Iron Man movies until after I saw Captain America and was interested in the Avengers movie that was coming out. The Avengers (2012) was the first one I saw at the movies.

Well, it depends.

The original Silver Surfer of the comics is male, but really, his role doesn't hinge on being male or female.

However, the Silver Surfer is naked. Now imagine a silver Salma Hayek, Kat Dennings, or Rhianna, floating around naked on a silver surfboard on the big screen.
