I’m in the refractory periodOne "done" is missing, you racist
Well first off I posted because I wanted to.Then why even post here? What exactly is trash? Do you hate superhero movies, or just certain ones?
I don't have an issue with a differing opinion, but when you come in with a general "trash is trash" and "you couldn't pay me to watch those movies" comment without any context, makes it sound like you were bashing the entire concept.Well first off I posted because I wanted to.
I don't really hate any particular genre of movie. I liked a lot of them but lately they've become so formulaic and CGI dependent that the writing seems like an after thought. Infinity wars was a great movie, even better than End Game which was brilliant.
Since then, in my opinion, the quality of the writing has gradually gotten so bad it's unwatchable. But, again that's my opinion and I know a lot of people disagree but I don't think there's anything wrong with voicing an alternate opinion.
Yeah it’s what I strive to help my students differentiate- whether their reactions are based on taste or actual structural issuesI don't have an issue with a differing opinion, but when you come in with a general "trash is trash" and "you couldn't pay me to watch those movies" comment without any context, makes it sound like you were bashing the entire concept.
And while I'm a big MCU fan, I can admit things have fallen off compared to the previous phase. I still enjoy the movies and shows they've come out with. They do suffer from being compared to one of the greatest runs in cinematic history up to Endgame. Keeping that sustained is hard.
They killed off too many cornerstone characters in IW and EG and that hurt. People now need to get used to a new cast as well as a new approach to the MCU. I'd argue they've come out with too much content which makes it hard for casual fans to really stay connected with.
They've had their share of hits and misses, but I'm still a fan. And I enjoyed The Marvels. It wasn't a great movie, but it was a fun watch imo.
The Enchantress?Yes please...
Anya-Taylor Joy joining one of the most anticipated new Marvel movies
It doesn't take a genius to figure out which Marvel villain Anya Taylor-Joy is likely to be playing in the Fantastic Four MCU reboot.www.thedigitalfix.com

========================
Marvel's Fantatstic Four is reportedly casting a woman for the role of the Silver Surfer.
In the comics, the Surfer is a humanoid alien with metallic skin who can travel through space with the aid of his surfboard-like craft. When his travels took him to Earth, he met the Fantastic Four, who helped him rediscover his nobility of spirit.
In the 2007 film Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, staring Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd and Chris Evans, the Silver Surfer is portrayed by Doug Jones and voiced by Laurence Fishburne. The movies were then remade in 2015 starring Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan.
Now, casting is said to be underway for yet another reboot and as fans eagerly wait for the casting updates, reports have claimed that Marvel Studios will have made the character into a woman for this new iteration. Industry insider Jeff Sneider recently appeared on an episode of The Hot Mic with Jeff Sneider and John Rocha and spoke about the Fantastic Four cast, saying: "Yes, you can expect to see a female Silver Surfer.”...........
Modern audiences? That's what they tell us. Guess I'm not modern. Why not just do Norrin Radd now, and Nova later? Will they swap Nova as well? If so, what's the point of swapping in the first place? If not, why not?
Let's say you own a steakhouse. You have a loyal customer base (comic fans) who have been coming to you for years, expecting the same quality and product, and you have always delivered that expected product to them. Everyone is happy. The restaurant makes money, the customers eat their fill of something they enjoy. Then one day you decide, "I will now serve everyone a pork chop, even though they all want and expect the steak we have always delivered to them, just because". Why would the restaurant expect their life-long customers to be happy with that? That's what this feels like... casting the Silver Surfer as a woman "just because".
Who is asking for SS to be a woman? Where is the outcry for him to be cast as such?
I don't even think modern audiences are asking for that. If anything, it's the opposite. Audiences are saying they don't like what's been coming out lately.Modern audiences? That's what they tell us. Guess I'm not modern.
But the movie makers don't believe them.I don't even think modern audiences are asking for that. If anything, it's the opposite. Audiences are saying they don't like what's been coming out lately.
They will when they see the box office numbers. Money, or lack thereof will make them believe. But the movie makers don't believe them.
Not a great analogyWhy not just do Norrin Radd now, and Nova later? Will they swap Nova as well? If so, what's the point of swapping in the first place? If not, why not?
