[Merged] N/S- Henry Ruggs car accident in Vegas (update from old thread) (1 Viewer)

Ok, what about Carter the DL the Eagles just took, should he be suspended for a few games? Its a little different but he took a life as well.

He wasn't driving the car that wrecked while inebriated though. Not exactly analogous.

Did Carter kill someone? From what I'm reading it sounds like he was racing an SUV. The SUV crashed and the people in the SUV were killed. The driver of the SUV was under the influence and driving at 104 MPH. No doubt what he did was wrong and stupid and could've killed people. But from what I'm reading it sounds like it was the other driver who actually killed people.

IIRC the nfl says stuff done outside of league membership is punished differently, He was racing allegedly so i'm not sure how you want to tie the sole liability to him

Also Google tells me:

Kiara Washington is still in a relationship with the former National Football League player Henry Ruggs 111. Henry was a wide receiver for Las Vegas Riders team. The two began dating when they were teenagers. The couple welcomed their daughter in May 2020, called Kenzli Re'Nai Ruggs.Mar 14, 2023

You may be right, I thought he was driving.

He was driving, but his vehicle was not involved in the accident.

And because he fled the scene, it is not known if he was driving while intoxicated. (Though I believe it is assumed)

The truth is there's no good outcome. 3-10 sounds reasonable to me as don't recall a troubled history for Ruggs.

My concern now is the entire industry complete with laws means he is not alone. 247.3B in 2021 booze sales and billboards for lawyers all over town say it's actually pretty common.

A person is dead. Another's life will never be the same.

I only hope that every single person has a safe plan before they take a sip. It's less expensive and it just might save lives.

How common is it to drink and drive 150mph down a street?
