Allen insisted Wednesday the comments were made chiefly in jest, and more than once he said he has no problem with the people of New Orleans and that he is a big fan of the famous cuisine. He just limits his food orders to room service gumbo while in the Big Easy.

Either Allen's view of New Orleans is obscured by the curtains when he orders room service, or he's never been to a 3rd world country.

I bet he ordered a Lucky dog.

Call me biased, but I love New Orleans. Warts and all.

I hope we chop and cut block him all game.

I don't care what he said about the city, I hate the vikings, their fans, don't like their city and hope their team moves to LA. Only the Falcons I hate more than the queens.

Drew Brees made these eyes when he heard about these comments, ya know, the ones that mean here come 62 points and you can do nothing about it. :worthy:

I take great pride in the fact that amidst a sea of purple, this far up North, there is an Island of Black and Gold.....With a Super Bowl banner.

Hacks off the neighbors, you betcha!

Wow.. i stroll through the city of New Orleans all the time to score some amazing food. Who would have thought that a 6'6," 270 pound mullet wearing troglodyte would be locked away in his hotel room wetting his underoos. Kind of makes me feel like John McClane. I am such a bad@#$. Yipee yo kayee mu.....

That should be a bullet comment on your resume'

I love that his opinion is based off of visiting directly after katrina....
That'd be like visiting japan after all the earthquakes and assuming it looks like a natural disaster just happened 24/7....What an idiot! :jpshakehead:

I really don't care about Jared Allen's opinion. I thought they were rude, even though I know he was trying to talk in jest. If anything, I kind of thank him for his commments. It led to some good debates and commentary on New Orleans' infrastructure on talk-radio today and at the office. One day I'd like to see New Orleans listed as America's cleanest city. Allen's comments just mean that we have a long way to go.

At least we don't have to worry about lack of motivation playing a 2 win team. Of course with 2nd seed hanging out there, I didn't think there was a chance to sleep on Vikings anyway.
