yes but i wouldnt think you would or even can do interviews mid season, unless maybe your interviewing people not currently on a team not sure of the rules

Every coach has his own contacts. Its not like there’s an objective power ranking of assistants and the first hired gets first pick.

Yeah, I believe most if not all of these guys have the basic framework of their staffs put together already. That’s part of the interview process…presenting your concrete plans, including the assistants that have basically committed themselves as “your guys.”

well if we could have done our in person interviews we may be further along, unless we are awaiting coaches that are still in playoffs

As odd as it may sound, I do trust Tom Brady. I suspect the Raiders won't be Raidering anymore.

The NFL slowed down the process and that outside of interviewing coaches without jobs, we couldn't even do a remote interview with any candidates that were in the playoffs until like last week. And McCarty only became available late last week. And there are still 3 coordinators that we are looking at that are in the playoffs.

So, having a head start is only really helpful in doing the background work on these guys which I'm sure they did. But, they still have to go through the interview process and that was delayed because New Orleans was shut down for 3 or 4 days by a snow storm.

And yet, only one guy that they were seriously considering is gone and we still have 2 or 3 guys that are in the Conference Championship games as coordinators left to interview. I don't see how this is a bad position to be in.

Maybe they picked the wrong guys to go after, but the speed of the process has not cost them anything other than an in person with Glenn after which he would have taken the Jets job anyway.

We can't know for sure due to the weather delays but it seems to me that they're waiting to talk to a candidate(s) that are still coaching. I think one of Moore/Brady/Kingsbury will be the new head coach next. I think it will be Kellen Moore.

I don't think Glenn will be a great HC. I expect him to last 1-2 years.

For us, MM isn't a choice I love either. I'd be more interested in giving a shot to a young innovative offensive mind. Just like we did with SP. He didn't have the credentials, but we took a shot on him and it paid off. Hiring Rizz or MM is just going to be a stop gap in my mind. I want a 10 year or more hire.

With the Cowboys working on getting Schottenheimer, we can essentially take our time with multiple interviews and do some due diligence. I wouldn't be surprised if it's after the Superbowl.

I have a disgusting feeling its going to be Rizzi. Mostly because of how Loomis has spoken so much about continuation. And in his presser, I didn't even remotely get the impression that he believes we need a soft rebuild. Which makes me believe he's going to press on with the continuation.

And just for clarity. His game time adjustments were awful, and so was his game management as interim head-coach. He may have been good in organizing the team every week leading up to the games and replacing bad coaches. But during game time he was nothing more then a cheer leader fumbling clock management.

I agree, now we have our pick of at least 3-4 coaches that could make a change, no excuses. Everything has turned to our favor in 1 day.
