New Orleans is the only vacant HC spot left (69 Viewers)

I swear, unless there was some inside source that defacto says that Glenn was their first choice, I think it was a local media narrative at best.

Agreed. The more this plays out, it looks like it's been MM the entire time, but they have to go through the process. Going through the process thoroughly is good work by the FO. Since MM is unemployed, he can reach out to whoever he wants to assemble his staff. If it is him, I wouldn't be surprised if when he's announced the staff, direction and identity of the team is also announced.

They went through a similar "process" to settle on Dennis Allen. I have no trust in the process, especially considering the man who led the last one is leading this one.

If the saints wanted mccarthy, he would be hired. Its joe brady bruh
The Saints can't hire anyone that doesn't fall under the Rooney rule until they've had in person interviews with 2 people that do fall under the Rooney Rule.

McCarthy does not fall under the rule, so the Saints can't hire him, even if they've already decided they will, until after having in person interviews with at least 2 people that satisfy the rule.

Is there a confirmed interview for MM? I continue to see reports of “early next week”. I think some of the coaches still coaching remain an option.

For us, MM isn't a choice I love either.
I’m starting to think that you are going to have to learn to love MM.
I believe there is a good reason no one else took him seriously as a potential candidate. They already knew that Loomis wanted him.

I haven't checked the Vegas odds...be interesting
With McCarthy having his coaches and lieutenants taking jobs elsewhere I am thinking he is no slam dunk to have the job...

It could also be that MM didn't want to go anywhere else but the Saints. With his record, I have a hard time believing that nobody else wanted him but the Saints.

Add to that, one of our posters has claimed he heard, from people inside the Saints, that McCarthy's people have been lobbying hard through every possible avenue to get the job. This was before Jags and Raiders hired coaches.

Seems that at the very least, the Saints has been McCarthy's top preference since ending negotiations with Dallas.
