Vegas gonna Vegas. Can't give up that power over controlling the end of the game so the money falls correctly. Far more important than player safety is owner safety through keeping "Vegas" happy so they don't kill anyone's family members...

We ware going to make sure we're only putting on teams that will bring the largest TV ratings so we can continue to charge more and more for advertising time.

I hate that idea. That means I could make plans, book a hotel room, then the game gets moved to Thursday night? Moving a Sunday noon game to Sunday night is one thing. Moving it to Thursday is going too far.

This again show a tunnel vision on TV and not caring about fans attending games. If it makes the NFL more tv revenue, screw the season ticket holder.

Glad this was approved and not playing 4 days between games. You know that "player safety" issue.

I don't think the owners see the players as fully human.

4th and 20 kickoff replacement is the dumbest thing in the world. The kickoff is the most iconic play of the game. I can already see so many phantom PI and defensive holding calls.

I saw an idea someone had that I think made more sense than the 4th and 20 rule. The issues he pointed out were that on a 4th and 20, a minor (or incorrect) holding call gives the "kicking" team a new possession and the defense is forced to defend the entire field.

His suggestion was this. Instead of having a 4th and 20 from your own 40, you get one play from the opposing team's 15 yard line. If you get into the endzone on that play, you get the ball on your own 35. If you don't, the defense gets the ball on their own 40. That way, the defense isn't stuck trying to defend over half the field, and if there is a penalty, the ball gets respotted, and you have to try again.

Roughing replay should’ve been approved. A lot of games being decided by discretion/phantom calls. But owners prioritize revenue above anything else. That’s more jersey sales for them and more $ that players are about to pay to switch

Eh, it's really not much different than what happened with reviewing PI that year after the no-call. The officials deliberately refused to be boxed in by the review rules and essentially nothing changed. Until replay becomes applicable to all aspects of a play, I don't think anything changes.

The onside kick is unfortunately dead with the kicking team not having an opportunity to get a running start, maybe a declared onside kick allowing the old five yard running start would be a good change. Outside of Ambush, the opposing team usually knows it’s coming anyway based on the score and game clock. The current rules require eight players on the receiving team to be within 15 yards of the restraining line, make an additional rule that at least one player needs to be outside of that zone to allow a 10v10 fight for the ball.

I agree with the running start. They should bring that back.
