NFL Scouting Combine: Feb 27–Mar 2 (34 Viewers)

Not trying to set you off, but I don't see the "home run" speed. I see him outrunning defenders with pedestrian speed from mediocre programs. But I also have seen him getting caught from behind just as often. His speed looks ordinary to me.

Not sure why he didn't work out today, but if he knows he's not going to run well, sitting out would be a logical move to preserve his value.

I think he'll be a very, very good NFL RB, because his tackle-breaking ability seems to be elite. But unless he's a truly exceptional prospect in the mold of Adrian Peterson, I'm not interested in taking him in the top 20, let alone at #9.
I think he's being pigeon holed as the "broken tackle" guy by people on here. There's a reason he's ranked in the top 5 in a lot of people's overall draft rankings. A 5'9" 210-215 back that's kinda slow doesn't make anyone's top 5 prospect list.

Jayden Higgins with the 4.47 at over 6'4" and 215lbs. The put him side by side with Nico Collins and I love that comp. I'll take a Nico Collins all day for a Big X.
I like him but he may have moved himself up in the draft.
He is in the top 5 in all of the posted drills so far today.

I like him & the Stanford Cardinal...

He had some drops, but his talent is intriguing. Also had bad QBs throwing to him, so that might have held him back a little. Out of all the receivers I think he might be one of the best values. I liked Matthew Golden, but he just ran a 4.3 if i read the post right…So he is someone we can probably cross off the board, but Elic kind of fits the mold of the type of receiver we need.

I couldn't take Steve Sarkisian blathering about Ewers.
So I left the room for awhile...

Well, there's no shame in being a "broken tackle" guy, right? But also, I don't think he's "kinda slow." His speed is fine. But it's not special, IMO. But if he ran today and clocked around 4.6 (give or take a few hundreths), I think you'd see draftniks who have him ranked that high begin to adjust their rankings.

If he did run a 4.6 he'd fall off a cliff on draft day. He'd have to pull a hammy mid run to run a 4.6. This'll probably be discussed nonstop until his pro day, and after probably if we're being honest, but he'll put all this to bed when he runs it. I'm boldly calling sub 4.4, mainly because of the pro day nudge they tend to give their guys. If not he's still comfortably in the 4.4 range.

To my untrained eye, I definitely don't see a sub-4.4 guy at all. I'd predict around 4.5 flat at best at his Pro Day. But we'll see.

Again, he'll be a really good back in the NFL. But taking him that high is not how I'd want to build my team.

What is an "anti-Jeanty stance"? What does that mean? I already said if he's the BPA take him at #9. And he may well be BPA, but that doesn't mean he's going to be an elite NFL RB. I don't see how that's comical. So, please explain.

I think he likely runs a 4.55 to 4.6, but I could be wrong. If he runs 4.4 to 4.5, then I'm obviously wrong that he does have great speed, and maybe elite if it's closer to 4.4, to go with his vision, power, and contact balance.

Fair enough. I think he's faster than the 4.55-4.6, but since he didn't run, none of us know. All we can do is look at his tape and compare that to him hitting over 21 MPH in games, that's fast.

I'm slightly disappointed in his weight, but at his height it's not bad. If he was 5'10", I'd definitely want to see him at 215lbs. When you add in his 605lbs squat and that makes his his weight being a little low irrelevant.

You can see his 600lbs squat in games, it's when DTs hit him and fall to the ground. That's tye power this guy brings. It's all of this combined as to why I among others even professionals think Jeanty is special.

Ayomanor would be a legit pickup because he produced despite pretty bad QB play at Stanford.

Problem is I think 40 is a bit too high and he may not be there at 71.

Listening to Late Hits on NFL Radio tonight, Ryan Leaf was talking about how no scouts have 1st round grades on any QBs in the 2025 draft.

It will be really interesting to see how things actually go in the draft. Guys will be over drafted to QB needy teams, but this is where moving forward with Carr keeps us from making a huge mistake.
