(Old thread) Saints Offensive coach, Dan Roushar, part ways. (6 Viewers)

That's actually pretty significant. He was heavily involved in the Saints run game for a decade. I wonder if Marrone bumps up?

TE coach. Helped developed Juwan Johnson.

Johnson was already a decent WR, his biggest improvement overall was putting on 20lbs of muscle. I'm not sure how much Roushar had to do with that. Was Johnson's improvements as a blocker more of Marrone coaching the O-line or Roushar. Also, is Roushar the reason Trautman hasn't improved as expected?

If you factor that into the inept running game, then it's easy to see this guy might not just be a fall guy, but actually a need to move on from.

Does this mean we are keeping Carmichael?

Allen needed to go. We will have to wait another 5-6 games on that one.

But if Allen was staying, Carmichael had to go. You HAD to address some part of the problem. At least give off the illusion that youre trying. Hell bring in a raw offensive mind, let him OC and see if he is potential HC material in the process.

But keeping Allen AND Carmichael? Are you serious? Next thing theyll say is Andy Dalton is returning as the starter.

Sure not looking good. Usually if the head coach dodges the axe an offensive coordinator gets the axe. Looks like we're taking that to the next step and leaving the OC in place and firing the run game coordinator. Who knows it's still early in the day.

Duncan says they are 'parting ways'. Maybe that means Roushar decided to leave on his own.
