One thing I don't want in the draft (2 Viewers)

It will be a shock no matter what the pick is. . . I don't think we have ever drafted anyone that was the consensus mock draft pick. DE will be what we need or OL since they are always injured.
Cam Jordan out of Cal. I loved that pick. He had torn up the Senior Bowl.

We traded 2 number ones for him. He had 2 good years. Way over paid.
You're a cheery soul. I merely pointed out that there are examples of us taking the consensus pick.

Meanwhile, you carry on grumping the place up. And I say this as someone who isn't a fan of trading up.

Those are draft successes, one coaching failure
Those are recent, later round players from small schools that completely disprove the OP's idea of only going big school.

The whining on your part is secondary / irrelevant. Did you miss your morning coffee?

I understand your point about 1B, however, I think there are a lot of really good, interesting FCS and HBCU prospects this year, particularly in areas of need for the Saints. Ireland could mine some real gems in the later rounds and free agents, IMO.

I'm a realist. How did those 2018 and 2020 drafts go. Still wonder how many winning years we would have had without Drew? We will see. Payton with the Broncos, and our Front Office will be the test.(I do like this years moves)

In life, I'm definitely more on the realist (aka pessimist) side, but I guess I need to pump a little more sunshine when it comes to the hopes of my chosen egg chasers and the mathematical improbabilities of their sustained success. It's probably just a form of suspended disbelief 🙂

Good player, not worth 4 draft picks.
We spent a lot because we wanted to retain the 2nd 1st rounder to do our usual...small school "in the trenches" prospect that gets hurt in year 1...twice.

If you want to lay blame at anything, be mad we spent a ton to keep a 2nd 1st that wasn't projected to start week 1...a total waste IMO.

I’ll go in the opposite direction, the one thing I want to get out of this draft is a stud tight end. It’s been a long time since the saints suited up a solid tight end. It seems like Jimmy Graham been the most recent.

Injured in his rookie season? Not a week 1 starter? Well, that's it, career over!

Back away from that ledge...
