Oops, that's my number (Senator Vitter)[MULTI-MERGED] (3 Viewers)

The Republicrat slime machine continues to claim its victims. ;)

This really doesn't have anything to do with a slime machine. The Madame released her phone records because she was being investigated. Rather than a slime machine claiming its victims, this is more like a slime ball getting what he deserves.

In 2000, Vitter was included in a Newhouse News Service story about the strain of congressional careers on families.

His wife, Wendy, was asked by the Newhouse reporter: If her husband were as unfaithful as Livingston or former President Bill Clinton, would she be as forgiving as Hillary Rodham Clinton?

“I’m a lot more like Lorena Bobbitt than Hillary,” Wendy Vitter told Newhouse News. “If he does something like that, I’m walking away with one thing, and it’s not alimony, trust me.”

“I think fear is a very good motivating factor in a marriage,” she added. “Don’t put fear down.”

Depends on when Vitter was involved. Isn't this old news?

As others have said, his only regret is that he got caught.

But I doubt he's sorry. I'd wager he is still sleeping around, only being much more discreet having learned his lesson.

This is not news. Vitter always struck me as a smarmy individual - the act he puts on about being the family man someone else mentioned is the same act most politicians put on.

I'm just not surprised. Nor would I be if he got busted again.

Some of y'all act as if you haven't done anything wrong, ever. The man got caught having sex. Oooohhhh, bad boy. I guess it would have been better had the feds found cash in his freezer, at least he would have been re-elected.:9:

Besides the fact that this is now common knowledge, Vitter confessed to his wife years ago and underwent counseling. This matter is really between him, his wife and God. Just like he said. Does this take away from his "family values" message? Yes, but it doesn't hurt me if he fools around on his wife. To me, this is no news, just like Clinton having sex with Monica. If that is what he wants to do, fine. Just don't preach family values to me if that is what you want. That is the only thing that upsets me, the fact that he was preaching that garbage while he was fooling around.

Hey DD, as for the reference to Swaggert. The difference is Vitter went with some high class hooker......um....escort, whereas Swaggert went with dirty, unkempt, $10.00 ho's.:hihi:

Not old news, this sounds like a different hooker than the one from Louisiana that almost went public. This is with the DC madam.

I dont judge the effectiveness of politicians by their personal life indiscretions. We have had many fine presidents who were messing around and some of the top CEOs in the country are hardly model citizens.

The thing about Vitter that makes it hard to take is he is such a dirty player in politics and such a holier than thou guy at times. The linked article from MLU really lays it out. Vitter is a very clever politician who hits his opponents hard and low, whether they are fellow republicans or democrats.

I will say this, his adveritsements duirng his last race with his daughters and his stance on Canadian prescriptions drugs was among the best advertising campaigns I have ever seen. It created this wonderful image of Vitter portraying him as a family man/nice guy. He might be a fine family man, I dont know. He aint a nice guy and that has nothing to do with his affinity for hired women.

Serious question, and I'm not trying to pin it on you as I am sure lots of people are going to have the same initial response, but: What are the chances that someone who says "big deal" in regards to Vitter never raised a stink about Clinton's similar actions?

Apples vs. oranges. Clinton's biggest problem wasn't having sex with Monica. Clinton's 2 big problems were: 1) having sex with an intern ultimately under his employ, and 2) lying about it under oath to a Grand Jury.

Similar actions. I'm talking about the cheating on the wife. The term "family values" got thrown around a lot during the investigation as well. So you could answer the question as posed or you can ignore it and say its baseless, but I am still rather curious.
