Pastor to Die in Iran for being a Christian (1 Viewer)

I would say 99.9% of all Christians, even very hard core right-wing half crazy Christians like Jerry Fallwell would not aspire to the kkk belief system. I don't think you can say that for Muslems. There are probably 20-30% world wide with very extremists beliefs including leaders of nations.

Do you really want to get into this? What percentage of Christians participated in the Crusades? The ethnic cleansings in Bosnia? Lets talk about Bosnian Muslim women having their wombs cut open, their babies removed and then having a cat sewn in their womb in the name of Christianity. All religions have blood on their hands, with the possible exception of Buddhists and Jains. The degree to which that exist in each faith depends on when you ask the question.

I grew up in Indonesia, the most populated Islamic country in the world and every muslim person I ever met was just like me, kind, respectful and wanting the best in life for them and their family. I agree with saintszks in that those in the extreme are in the extreme minority.

I edited the picture to cover her finger:

Shall we not forget the Christian churches that were built to sit directly above slave chambers that still stand as such to this day in places like Senegal and Ghana. Or the forced upon "Christian names" that still somewhat persist to this day because clearly, someone named Amadou or Djeneba is a heathen!

Throw stones and hide the hand.

Good old SR EE board. Iran wants to kill a man because of his religion and Christianity ends up getting taking the heat for it.

Here is the real picture, so covering up the photoshop'd bird seems rather silly now (as do all religions, to me):

You missed the point entirely and the OP didn't frame it as "Iran" as to blame.

I didn't miss the point, and Iran is not going to kill this man in the name of tacos.

I don't believe that all Muslims are murderous scum, but I don't think they need a free pass card for modern day human rights violations because of the Spanish Freaking Inquisition or the Crusades.

so why didn't this guy just pretend he was joking about being a christian??

that way his kids could still have a father

Yes you missed the point since you haven't removed the name "Muslims" from your discourse and realized it is simply the work of a few self-centered human beings using a religion as a guise, just as has been done with Christianity for some of the world's worst and unsurpassed atrocities to date. That was the point.

I guess he thinks his belief is more important than his life. As if there is anything worth dying for, like freedom.

Lying to some pieces of trash to save your life doesn't mean you're renouncing your faith.

I would have lied to them and then called them on the phone later and said, "Psyche!"

Nobody claimed it did. The point is that the religion of Islam and Muslim's in general are no more to blame for this than Christians are to blame for the atrocities in Bosnia, the Catholic Church's complicity in the Holocaust, the Spanish Inquisition or the Crusades. This is an execution being carried out by a Totalitarian regime that uses the Muslim religion to keep power. Had the original post blasted Iran or the Iranian government for this, it would be one thing, but the original post blasted the Muslim religion and blamed it for this.

Of course, I also not that you ignore the most recent examples of atrocities committed in the name of Christianity. And, I've left out abortion clinic bombings and lychings and killings by the KKK and other Christian White Supremacist movements from the end of the Civil War up until today. But, again, Christianity is no more to blame for those things than Islam is to blame for what goes on in Iran.
