We have heard for two years now that we have been going after him VERY hard, but sadly I just don't think we have the ammo for him dollar-wise at this stage, unless we make a major cut of our own.

We've worked magic before though, so who knows. This would certainly make us a threat in the NFC, probably giving us the best defense in the conference.

He was unhappy with his contract, on the last year of that contract and he is about to turn 32.

Someone like the Ravens or Chiefs will pay him big money on a 3 year deal, we don't need to spend the money on an aging veteran when we have guys like TA, Marcus Williams, CGJ and what is likely to be a huge contract for Jameis. We need to get through this season, kill the dead cap way more than we need another corner. Even though I do think Gilmore could be an impact player at CB for a year or two and then is a prime candidate to shift to FS where he would likely excel at a high level for another year or two it's just a luxury at a position we don't have a lot of need at the moment.

I don't think he's in the cards for us. He's good enough to warrant a multi-year deal even in-season and I don't think that's in the cards for us. Adebo is clearly our #2 corner of the future on a rookie deal. Unless it was a 1 year deal, which I don't see how we could pull off, I think he'll very likely end up somewhere else.
