Not upset about the pick and not surprised. We have to give him a chance. It was a position of need though.

Can you imagine the backlash if we had traded in the top 10 for him? Rumor has it we were trying and couldnt find a taker, for the mods sake I am glad we didn't

If they were indeed trying to move into the top ten, it definitely wasn’t for this guy. They knew he wasn’t at risk to go there. Everyone that that move could have been for was gone when we picked.

Louis Riddick had some positive comments about the pick, so that was cool.
My problem with the pick is we had more pressing needs than a backup DE. JOK was an option because we need a wingman for Demario, and JOK seems to be the guy.

we don’t have a corner worth a damm outside of Marshon, who may get suspended for his arrest.

Oh well...

It's funny every year except 1 since Sean has been coach on draft night we're all trying to figure out why that stupid pick? What I love is the excuses or justifications...example... maybe front office had info that their guy would be gone? Then, they're the experts so they see what we don't. Also, they have a vision for the guy. Reality is, there's something they like so they draft him. But truth and history tells us they aren't much better at guessing than we are.

The draft board looks great for CB/LB.

Plus, a more affordable avenue.

The Logistics in the 1st round was awful because of the SF trade. Then, another team having to give up a 3rd to move up two spots.

2nd and 3rd are gonna be way more affordable

I love all these armchair GMs that come out of the woodwork for draft night each year 😂

Turner looks like a Calias Campbell clone, very versatile player all over the line.

u can never have to many big men on the field and this man definite fits that area.

What about the armchair gms that come out every year to talk about how every player the saints pick is great even though they had never heard about the player before?

I agree with you and with that extra third and not ton of money for our rookie pool I would expect a trade up for CB/LB in the second we shall see

Lots of people are saying this so I am replying to you and all of them.

You have no idea the inner workings of teams, assuming you can just trade back isn't like assuming you can just head down the road to a 7/11... it's not about wanting to do it, it is about finding a deal that you can do it at. This front office as been pretty damn on point in the draft the last handful of years, why does that not generate some trust? I remember people clowning the Alvin Kamara pick using the exact same 'logic'. Sometimes you just get the guy you want and sometimes you can manipulate up and down the board to get him, sometimes you don't have the right deal available to make. Trust the guys who have built a damn good team in the draft when they make the picks, and judge them AFTER you have seen results. Anything said beforehand is just petty, and proof you care more about names you heard of than the entire organization who it is their job to get this right.
Ohhhh, so you're saying trading up or down cant be done unilaterally... See i though Mickey could just call Roger around 1130 the night before draft and tell him where he wants to pick and that's how draft works. Who knew right...😒
