He's looking like a wasted draft pick. Nothing I hate more than spending a pick on a QB, when you have your guy.The way I look at it is Haener probably isn't working out. Carr -> Winston -> Hill -> Haener unless they plan to cut Haener or move him to PS.
Have some patience. He's young and inexperienced, but flashed during camp and preseason games. Rookie QB's usually don't light the league on fire. Give him a chance to develop. He's got juice; how far he goes as a player largely depends upon working on mechanics to improve his accuracy. He's looking like a wasted draft pick. At most he is going to be your backup. You sign back up QBs not draft them.
Yes I'm aware of Dak and Kirk, but 100s of others did not work.
This is nothing more than using the rule to our advantage. Hill will play his usual multiple positions..The way I look at it is Haener probably isn't working out. Carr -> Winston -> Hill -> Haener unless they plan to cut Haener or move him to PS.
We’re down a RB, or likely to be down one. He will be a factor in the running and #’s game from the QB positionGuessing this means he’d be the #2?Saints switch Taysom Hill's designation from tight end to quarterback
Technically, the Saints now have four quarterbacks on the 53-man roster.www.nbcsports.com
A snippet from the article:
Under that approach, Derek Carr would serve as QB1, Hill would fill the role of QB2, and Jameis Winston or rookie fourth-rounder Jake Haener would be the emergency third quarterback. The third quarterback could play only if both Carr and Hill were both unavailable due to injury or ejection.
Brah, Haener will not be QB1 unless both Carr and Winston and injured. It's about taking advantage of roster flexibility. If Carr goes down for any extended time Winston or Haener would be the #1 but Hill will remain the #2 for roster flexibility.
How are people confused with an concept clearly explained in the source article??
It only matters if we officially label him as emergency QB. You can keep 10 QBs on the active roster on gameday if you want.Yea I’m very confused on it as I’m reading it that way too. Interesting for sure.
