PFT: firm belief OBJ (was) signing with Saints (2 Viewers)

Dang we tried to get him and failed? I don’t remember that.
My biggest heartbreak was not landing Deion. Also was upset when we lost the corner to Washington in 2015, can’t remember his name…but that worked out well for us.
That was definitely the most disappointing free agent day for me in my youth. Despite him being a Falcon, Deion was my favorite player (yeah I know, I know).

It was amazing to me that we were even in consideration by him. I even recall him watching a game at the Dome in a suite during the recruitment, and we even had the best monetary offer on the table by far. I thought for sure we had him.

I remember that breaking news cut-in on TV like it was yesterday; I was devastated. haha

Same same same.

If he goes to the Chiefs he's going to have a struggling QB and have to split targets with Kelce and Hill at a minimum. Why would he want to do that? If he wants to put up big numbers he needs to go where he's the best option on the field. And for that it would be the Saints.
Does he want to share targets with Adams and Cobb in GB while getting passes from a disgraced Aaron Rogers? I don't think so either.

If he's waiting to see if we best titans.. then he's going to be going too kc instead.

I don't think he cares about Rodgers social status TBH. GB has a legit shot at making a run with Rodgers at the helm. If they sign OBJ, he will get targets over Cobb so long as he earns Rodgers trust.

The big question is whether or not he'll settle for GB's supposed lowball deal. Money is going to be a factor no doubt.

Someone just needs to follow OBJ around this weekend and let us know which game(s) he watches. He'd be most likely tuned into the team he plans on signing with. If he watches them all... then he's just got too much time on his hands. And too many TVs! :hihi:

There is no way I’d come here if I were him. Bad QB play, worst receivers in the history of the game, not going to win a Super Bowl, can’t pay much. Lol
I hate to say it but this is exactly right. This would be a major home-town discount.

Fortunately, Payton is selling him an option for next year too. With Jameis and MT13 we would be a major postseason threat.

What would be the point in OBJ choosing us if he’s only here for the rest of the year? Surely if he’s coming here it’s because SP has managed to sell him the future and the prospect of playing in a contending team from 2022 onwards.
let's be clear, this is all about playing well for the rest of the season and helping a contending team make the playoffs and setting himself up for a big payday one more time in his career

this has absolutely nothing to do with whatever team he signs with having convinced him of a long-term future with that team

absolutely nothing

the romanticization makes you feel all warm and cozy I get it, but that's not the real world
