PFT: firm belief OBJ (was) signing with Saints (2 Viewers)

If (as is being reported/speculated) he's looking to pick a team and stay with them, definitely his best option is here or KC. KC has Mahomes for the foreseeable future, but also receiving options that will be in front of him. We don't have the optimal QB situation this year, but that will change, and we have Sean Payton play calling.

There is no way I’d come here if I were him. Bad QB play, worst receivers in the history of the game, not going to win a Super Bowl, can’t pay much. Lol
What games have you been watching? I have seen no bad QB play. I've seen WRs who can't a pass. But this notion that Winston, Trevor, or even Taysom, for the few plays he's been in, have played subpar is just not based in facts.

This team does not have a QB problem.

Should have clarified my statements.
I’ve been one of Jameis and Trevor’s biggest defenders here lol. Also most critical of the wideouts, just saying compared to Green Bay, Kansas City, etc….the names we are now trotting out there at QB are not ideal.

I think Jameis was doing great trying to make chicken salad out of chicken sheet, so my comment isn’t about him at all. Nor should it be relevant as he’s out for the year.

Well... looking at all this trouble trying to lure him back to New Orleans, it sure does seem like it would be much easier to just teach the guys we are already paying all the best techniques of how to catch a football. Wouldn't doing this be a lot easier (and cheaper) than try to land a kid who doesn't seem to want to play here?

They have been teaching all these guys those things from two to eights years in the NFL alone and none but Harris seems to be able to do it. I still think Callaway has a shot to develop, but what we have now is a large collection of #3 receivers. So, no matter how much trouble it would be, it's worth the effort to try to sign OBJ. He's not the player he was, but he's still far better than anyone we have right now.

If he comes here, hope he can beat triple teams because that's how defenses would play us with our current WR corps lol. Especially if Harris gets a suspension.
I don’t think harris gets suspended. Him coming here will open up the offense again. Kamara and harris are a problem and they warrant attention on defense. Odel will shoulder the load and attention from defenses helping the receivers we have now. All personal opinion of course.

So it's targets he wants. Okay. You want targets, we got your targets guy. Just come home and you'll be showered with targets. You'll see so many targets you'll be seeing them come at you in your sleep. Probably can't give you a lot of money and we don't have a great QB. Probably not going to win the Super Bowl. But if it's targets you want then good god man, we can handle that.

let's be clear, this is all about playing well for the rest of the season and helping a contending team make the playoffs and setting himself up for a big payday one more time in his career

this has absolutely nothing to do with whatever team he signs with having convinced him of a long-term future with that team

absolutely nothing

the romanticization makes you feel all warm and cozy I get it, but that's not the real world
This aged well. Being stuck behind Kupp and Woods on the depth chart is really going to set him up for a big payday. Not.

But he gets to be in L.A. where someone like him who is more interested in media coverage and nightlife would rather be.

I said it many posts back - but whenever a high profile free agent is being pursued by the Saints - they typically go elsewhere. It’s probably karmic payback for landing one of the greatest free agents of all time in Brees.

I know, perfect place for an attention seeker. I was just responding to the poster who tried to convince himself that OBJ wasn’t bothered about high level QB play or winning and instead his final payday. Clearly he wants a ring.
