PJ Williams re-signed (1 Viewer)

This guy is a Saints lifer. Has he been a superstar? No. Has he made errors at times? Sure. But he's turned into a very solid third round pick for us I feel, and is loyal.

There was a moment last season where this guy got hurt, and I could see the pain in his face when he was not able to return to the game and he was literally crying, and I realized right then and there why they keep this guy around. He's a solid pro, with heart.

Didn't we draft him with the pick we got from the Dolphins in the Williams trade? Anyway, he has turned into a solid contributor (after initially being labeled a bust.) Oh and thank you for using the correct 're-signing' instead of 'resigning' in your title...lol

The Williams trade?

I guess its possible Loomis could have added a third round pick 13 years into the future to help seal that deal back in the day. :ROFLMAO:

Very nice

Love this more than Sorenson, but PJ can’t cover TE’s like Jenkins did for the Saints. I hope DA has an answer for that when the season comes around.

lol my trades were mixed up. It was from a Dolphins trade...but the one for Kenny Stills I believe. And the only reason I remember it was the Dolphins is because I have a friend who is a Dolphins fan...and he loved telling how Stills had been great for them and we ended up with a bust (PJ.)

In before comment about not signing any* WRs yet.

* No one counts TQS.
Assuming Michael Thomas is healthy, the Saints have four roster locks at WR: Thomas, Callaway, Harty, and Smith. That would usually mean there is only one roster spot available at WR, and I would expect it to be filled during the first three rounds of the draft.

I mean, we had a hole to fill at FS/SS so it's smart to fill it before the draft so you aren't forced to draft one and we do need a penetrator at DT. It may be that the plan is to rely on an offensive player heavy draft to fill out the offense. Given the prices for WRs in the free agent market this year, that might not be a bad plan.

Also, they signed Forrest Lamp to provide depth/competition for the interior OL yesterday so it's not like they aren't doing anything on offense especially when you consider the additions of Winson, TQS, and Harty. I mean, I'd love some impact players but the cap adjustment plan wasn't going to allow for that in this market and there really isn't any great players available on offense at this point. Still, I hope they bring in a mid-level WR like Many Sanders or trade for a guy like Cooks.
This is the team getting ready to build through the draft and get out of the overpaying game. I like the way we are setting ourselves up it’s very smart and needed to be done.

I have a sneaky feeling that TQS is going to level out this season.
No more highs and lows.
Cavernous lows.
We've all seen his potential.
He can make the plays.
And great ones, sometimes.
He needs to grow up emotionally, I think.
Then his play will improve dramatically.
And be consistent.
