Normally true, but this is an exception.I'm just joking, but if you have to bake cups into your food, then your food is trash.

Clearly you do not understand the proper use of syrup and butter in those handy flavor holders all over the waffle.
Maybe the problem wasn't the waffle so much as your obvious bias for egg washed toast covered in fine ground sugar.I think the issue is you have never had French Toast that was properly made.
In the interest of full disclosure, and I know this will shake some of you to the core, I have never had a waffle that I thought was even close to good. I keep trying but they all pretty much so are meh. And pancakes, while always better than waffles, are generally not good most places. As suggested, if they don't have that bit of crisp on the edge they aren't worth it.
See, I'm thr opposite, I've had better luck with waffles than pancakes. I like them just slightly golden with a little crisp exterior. I rarely ever get a pancake I really like. I prefer the texture over the spongy mess of pancakes.I think the issue is you have never had French Toast that was properly made.

That said, by far, I prefer French toast over either of them.
And all of that is found in cakes, so you're doubly "wrong."If being biased for egg, sugar, and vanilla washed toast covered in fine ground sugar is wrong, then I don't want to be right.

You said if all of that was wrong, you didn't want to be right. So, I was saying you were doubly wrong. In other words, I agreed with you. And you leave @zeetes out of this!I don't know how that could be true when I am clearly right.
Plus, zeetes agrees with me and he's never been wrong about anything.
Here here! Let's give it up for Popeye's, the chicken so good the lady in the back is strapped! This thread never stood a chance of remaining on topic did it?
I mean chicken naturally brings up waffles and pancakes are common enough. French toast and crepes now? That's just fringe stuff for fancy times.
This is a Popeyes thread. Not a French Laundry pinky raised thread.

I'm a unicorn because I've never had a bad experience at Popeye's.I'll bring it back
My local Popeyes is abusive and incompetently run. They are always out of chicken or sides or their credit card machine is down.
The workers are hostile. One time I waited in line for 30 minutes and finally got up to order and before I could even utter a word they just screamed "We're out of everything!" and straight up told me to leave.
If you do get food, the order will be wrong.
when i eat waffles, i 100% have to fill each square up with syrup. i simpy cannot just pour syrup all willy nilly on a waffle...Clearly you do not understand the proper use of syrup and butter in those handy flavor holders all over the waffle.
