Potential Severe Weather tomorrow, 3-22-22 (Update: Tornadoes on ground in metro area) (3 Viewers)

I was listening to the wwl met on the way home. the difference is it will be more northern than the last system. St Tammany and the the coastal counties on the Ms. coast need to be prepared

Saw that this am. Kids are leaving on a bus for Disney Wed night and my wife and many others are starting to ask if they can't leave much earlier than the 7pm scheduled time.

The SPC forecast has NOLA in the level 3 for tornadoes with a hatch that indicates the possibility for strong tornadoes. The exact same thing as last time. It's a mirror image. I'm not sure how one determines two areas 25 miles apart can have such different forecasts 48 hours out.

I always hate when these types of systems come rolling through the DFW area in the middle of the night, like what is going to happen tonight. We have a weather radio just for that reason, but it doesn't have the greatest reception and sometimes misses alerts.

and last week, that Arabi tornado was at the TAIL end of the front line. Like had to be one of the last, if not the LAST cell passing thru that area.

I sat outside in Covington at 730pm enjoying the breeze and light rain thinking " boy they screwed the pooch on this one ( cancelled schools, many offices closed early etc )" and had it not been for that one cell, it would have been a non-event.

You would have to ask him. The last system did pass south of me. It did scare the crap out of me though.

Even with that tornado it still didn't verify in La. Should have been a level 3, this one too. The difference between level 3 and level 4 may not sound like much but it's really huge in what gets activated at the state/local government levels. With dual pol radar a lot of weak QLCS tornadoes are identified that used to be considered wind damage.

Up until about 5 years ago they had these squall line events as a level 2 with a 5% tornado risk like clockwork and nobody though much of it other than it's going to be thunderstorms and windy.

No link, our local met just said 50-60 mph gusts to be expected on the MS coast after sunset tomorrow. The
approaching cold front has the potential to bring tornadoes . Looks like another stressful evening

Well this doesn’t look promising.

and yall may be reading about some "Crazy woman" standing in front of and delaying a charter bus scheduled to depart Covington at 7pm for Disney.

I am NOT showing her this. Ever.

If you live in Waveland/Bay St. Louis/Pass Christian, are you just a bit pee'od that the entire state is 4, but you're only a 3?

They moved departure time to 5pm instead of 8pm.

whewwwwwwwwwwww. I woulda had to drug my wife ...lol

My dad was admitted to the hospital today, will probably be there for a couple days. So, looks like I'll be riding this one out in a hospital.....how convenient.

These are not the kind of avocados I like. Again, the only saving grace for my nerves is that it's a daytime event (for me).
Don't know yet Bonnjer. I was listening to the wwl met on the way home. It's supposed to hit around sunset for the
Parishes north of the lake and the 3 ms coast counties tommorrow. It looks to be another night event
