I think Sanders is probably a little better than Dart, but not enough to warrant the #9 pick. I just don't think the difference is that huge.

If this were a blind poll and the choices were 70.1% completion percentage / 134 career tds or 65.7% completion percentage / 81 career tds, the results would show a preference for what actually matters.
It’s a very laughable poll that isn’t based on football.

Dart is streaky and impatient while Sanders is consistent and calm during progressions.
It took Dart 4 years to have 1 2 good seasons. Sanders consistently played at a high level in all 4 college seasons.

I see where you are coming from but this is a pretty rough year to have the 9th pick. What are our other options?

Shemar Stewart?
Mykel Williams(whom the the mockers love for the saints)
Will Johnson?
An OL that’s not an immediate fit at G which is too high for 9 anyway?

Of course id like Jeanty(who probably won’t be there)or maybe Tyler Warren but I’m getting to the point where if the staff is sold in either one of these guys at QB then they should be the pick.

We’d still have 40/71/93/111/131 to get starters at G/WR(and or TE)/DL/DB etc.

Dart had almost 3500 total yards and 31 total TDs(vs 6 ints) in 2023.

Utterly ridiculous

Shedeur almost had 3500 passing yards in 2023. He had 69.3% to Dart’s 65.1%. 27 TDs and 3 ints to Dart’s 23 TDs and 6 ints.

Dart had a solid ‘23 year, make it 2 good years to Sanders’ 4. Dart has better mobility than Sanders, or utilizes mobility more, but he’s not a better QB/passer than Sanders.

Never really got the Sanders hate outside of how people feel about Deion. I think Sanders is much more cut out for the better NFL career all things considered. Not too excited about any QB in this class but if we do take one, especially in the first, it'd have to be Shadeur. But I sure do love tacoes...
I know Deion comes off as "unpleasant", but I don't think people are taking into account the UP side to Deion being his father. The kid has had access to the best of the best pro level training and mentoring from HOF's since peewee football, and unlike Shilo, it translated to above-average success. If we remove the stigma of public overconfidence and spoiled rich kid projection, the stats and pedigree suggest we view him with the same expectations and "anointment" as Arch Manning.

My point being is that both QBs have been in a major conference the past two years. Isn’t it better to compare what both QBs have done in that time frame?

Big defensive talent difference from SEC and Big 12. One QB is playing against future nfl players, the other is playing against future arena league players.

He did it at Jackson State and he did it with pops at Colorado. What you see is what you get. A polished pro passer in a weak QB class. Not without his faults clearly, but probably the most predictable of a mediocre bunch.

With or without the context of SEC vs Big 12? Bowl games?

Personally, I don't think the Saints need to get a QB this year, especially not with the 9th overall.

I'm on record saying that I think Sanders is the best overall QB prospect this year. However, I understand that many people are not fans of him or his father, so I won't get into any back-and-forth about him. I just hope we take a QB high in the next couple of years.
