Saints Rams defense cannot play Saints like they did Dallas (3 Viewers)

I expect domination this week. I was really nervous about philly but I just have a feeling we will be fierce this week.

And I’m just filling time, make no mistake I’d rather we fly under the flight deck....and I don’t care in the end what any who don’t play say. It’s all immaterial, including my own opinions. Just passing time as I’m excited.

Saints are 3.5 to 4 point favorites where do you get your info out of thin air.

The Eagles employed a similar strategy against the Saints as did Dallas. They put 8-9 in the box (or the 9th very near the box) and used a single high safety, playing man a LOT. It was quite effective for a while. Until Mike Thomas decided he was going to play Superman.

The Rams will try something similar, I think. They'll actually try to put the game in Drew's hands, taking away short/intermediate stuff counting on his being unable to hit deep.

I think the Rams know that. What will be interesting is how they cover Thomas. Do they try to man him up with Talib or Peters, or do they double team him and take him out of the passing game and dare someone else to beat them? If they man up like they did the last time with Peters, Thomas will kill them like he did the last meeting. I'm sure Talib will struggle covering him as well. And if they do cover 2 him, who on the Saints steps up and makes the plays in the passing game? Ginn?

I watched the Cows/Rams on my tv (32 inch) & I swear often times I couldn't even see the rams corners on the screen. They were playing 10+ yards off the WR.

Do that against the Saints WR core & Brees will shred you up.

One thing though Hump, both Peters and Talib were getting roasted Saturday night and Prescott couldn't hit anyone. Looks like Talib still is being bothered by the injury some too. I have confidence we'll see our guys getting open often and feasting.

And...

Ginn wasn't in the first game vs the Lambs.

He will be making plays in this game!

I think the Eagles D is more formidable than the Lambs D!

As usual - the only team that will beat the Saints is the Saints themselves!

Did it the first game have to do it again. It’s encouraging that Armstead made it through the game with no problems and played well.

I tend to agree with you but I *think the Dallas corner did with minimal help. Maybe just an off day for MT as he is an absolute beast.

Well, yeah - if you ignore the constant D Holding and outright PI's, then yeah he did a good job.

I get that we didnt play Talib in week 9. But I think we match up well w/the on D. We may give up some plays on the the ground, but I think we can handle their running game. The one man who the Rams need the most is on IR. W/out Kupp, I think Goff will have a hard time vs us...Or at least that's what I think.

I feel just as I did about the Eagles second game with us. It will be hard fought and we will have to find a way to scrape by.

While we are being widely dismissed I think we can do it if our big guys are ok enough. I think we will need 35 plus for this one.

I do respect Talib and that will be something we haven’t had to face.

Jeffery had 150 against them with talib playing

Gallup had 119. I honestly don't get the concern with talib. Do people really think he will shut michael thomas down. I think michael thomas will still have over 100 yards and a td. Talib will be frustrated. I'm loving ginn against peters. Talib doesn't make their whole defense better. Ingram and kamara will own their lbs.

The biggest and only concern on their defense should be aaron donald,and even he can be made irrelevant.

And I'm not sure where you guys are getting that Talib played poorly? I barely remember him giving up a catch. And he's not unstable at all - he's a team captain and a huge part of our defense.

What happened against the eagles? Jeffery had 150 and gallup had 119 saturday.
