Rams trade for Dante Fowler (1 Viewer)

But that "dominant" d-line also allowed 7.1 ypc against the Chargers. I cannot recall a dominant d-line being so poor against the run. Minnesota had a dominant d-line for years, and for years, they didn't even allow a 100 yard rusher. A dominant d-line makes Keenum do dumb things. Not rally his team to within 3 points.

How long you been watching football?

melvin gordon is a stud . Our defense is the defense tht allowed the chargers to score the LEAST amount of points so far , they are scoring MORE than what they scored against us in EVERY GAME . The run defense issue ( that they fixed ) was a unit ISSUE , not the d-line fault . Linebackers jumping out of gaps mostly . That was fixed . You do remember what happened in the LAST play of the minessota game when keenum had the ball ? A STRIP SACK and fumble recovered by the D LINE to END the game . This D line make CLUTCH plays when it matters MOST . I admit some games they played average but like I said , when it matters most , they come up with a clutch play just like they did against minessota . If you don't think that donald ( leads the league in sacks ) , suh , brockers and now fowler is a dominant D line ...then I dont know what would be .

It is funny he never heard of Todd Gurley , MVP candidate , last year offensive player of the year , this year he simply leads the league in touchdowns AND rushing yards AND all purpose yards , but I guess he never heard of him ....but I guess he never heard of him . Also never heard of jared goff , cooper kupp , brandin cooks and robert woods . he also probably don't know that the rams offense ranks :

third in the league in points scored ( 33.3 ) - Same as saints ( ranks second with 33.4 )
2th in total yards ( 442 yards ) - Saints ranks 8th ( 389 yards )
7th in passing yards ( 291 yards ) - Saints ranks 9th ( 281 yards )
1st in rushing yards ( 151 yards ) - Saints ranks 17th ( 108 yards ) .

You misread the entire thing. And in case you didn't know, Brandin Cooks was drafted here and played here for 3 years. I'm going to honestly assume you didn't know that. So Saints fans are familiar with him and all his limitations as well.

And it's not a good idea to compare stats side by side. The Saints have not had the rare pleasure of playing teams like the Cardinals (2-6), Raiders (1-6), and 49ers (1-7).

They've been to busy sacrificing stats while at WAR with division leaders all year.

I posted stats for the offense , now I will post for the defense .

TOTAL POINTS ALLOWED

Rams 6th - 19 points
Saints 23 th - 26 points

PASSING YARDS ALLOWED

Rams 10th - 230 yards
Saints - 28 th - 300 yards

RUSHING YARDS ALLOWED

Again with the Ram misinformation. But you're not the first so no worries. We have a resident Saints fan that does this all the time with your team.

The Titans held them to less points and probably should have beat them.

And that run D got fixed against who? Green Bay just had 5.6 ypc. Some guy named Aaron Jones had near 90 yards on just 12 carries.

Now you're moving into troll territory

Brandin cooks was a former saint and patriots , of course I know . He has been playing EXTREMELY well for us , I am glad we got him , I can't praise him enough . IT is a HUGE upgrade over sammy watkins . He is really good as a vertical threat and that is all we need him to do . He can also catch passes over the middle and is not afraid to get hit . Also rarely drops a ball .

I will give you that . I mean the Saints had a tougher schedule so far but it is NOT an enormous difference like you guys are saying . Out of the 8 games we played , there are only 3 bad teams. Not more than that . The niners are 1-7 but they are not AS BAD as their record shows . I will agree that cardinals and raiders are a joke lol .

You take ONE big run that he had for 30 yards and that leaves them with 60 yards . The run D does not really worries me . Our secondary does . We need talib back ASAP , hill and peters are getting DESTROYED by basically every QB we face . About the titans you are right , it is the only team that held them to less points. Chargers offense is the real deal , there is no defense that will be able to completely contain rivers ( future HOF ) and melvin gordon

Fowler alone doesn't scare any o line , I will AGREE . But donald / suh / brockers / fowler will scare and demand respect out of ANY O LINE . Saints O line is SOLID but for some reason if they don't bring their A game brees are gonna get sacked 6 times .

It's a good DL but just repeating their names in multiple posts doesn't make for a great argument. I think we will do fine against your DL. Drew is second in the league in Time to Thow at 2.55s. We aren't giving teams lots of time to rush him. The Vikings sacked Drew 0 times last week. Drew is 1st in the league for least sacked "qualified" QBs with only 9 sacks (we did have a bye). We probably have the best OL the Rams have faced all year. Six sacks aren't happening. Most likely Donald get 0-1 sack like he did against the Chargers and Seattle unlike the 4 he had against SF. That division is the definition of stat padding with the two worst teams in the NFC.

Your OL is possibly the best in the league. Ours is probably near the top as well. I think both QBs won't get sacked more than 3 times. Both teams can win a shootout or run it to win. I think the game comes down to defense. Both teams are bad against the pass. This trends towards a shootout, but I like our run defense. We are 1st in y/a at 3.2 and the Rams are 16th at 4.3. I think if we get a lead as we did against Minny, Wash, and Balt (the 5, 6, 7 rushing defenses) we can go on long drives running the ball and eat clock. Playing from ahead and controlling the pace of the game was key to our last to two victories. That said, we won a 43-37 shootout against Atl. I think this game will be closer to that.

It will be a good game.

Saints fans know it will be a battle. of course it will. Still gonna beat ya.

Good and valid points. IT could be a shootout for sure . I am REALLY curious to see the number ONE defense against the run , going against the BEST running back in the league and the number ONE running attack in the league. Should be an awesome battle which hopefully , we win :)

I didn't know brees were releasing the ball that fast. Damn . Yup , it makes it harder to get to him . About Donald , he skiped the training camp because of the holdout and like last year , it took a few games for him to reach his peak so I am more inclined to think that he is gonna keep getting better and better . He simply worn people out , by the 4th quarter offensive linemen that has the task to stop him it extremely tired and that is when he do the most damage. The fact that he leads the league in SACKS being an interior linemen says a lot . in my opinion he is simply the best defensive player in the league BY FAR .

I really hate to complain about the refs , because I try to believe that they are human and they can make mistakes , but one thing that has been happening a lot is HOLDING against Donald ,he is basically being held in every PLAY but the refs don't call it . It is driving me nuts , some holdings are so obviou and blatant , yet they don;t call . If the refs would call all the holding penalties against donald , it would be just insane .

It is gonna be an awesome game .I am confident that the rams will be playing the saints again in the NFC championship .

How does it feel always having more opponent fans in the stands then Ram fans? This past Sunday, I bet 75% of those fans were Packer fans, LOL. It felt more like Lambeau Field. Talk about stupid. Football doesn't belong in LA. LA is a where Northerners and Easterners go during the winter. Its a commute city. LOL. Rams should have stayed in St Louis honestly. Football wasn't in LA for years for a reason and we are seeing why now because they can't even get their fans to show up even when you're undefeated. Sad.

Fact is, you don't have a true homefield in LA and never will. New stadium or not. So you better hope you win the Super Bowl during this short window because the Rams are about to enter Salary Cap Purgatory. Especially when Goff starts demanding that big pay day which could come as soon as this coming off season. Then its cut cut cut cut cut cut cut and bye bye to your depth and some key starters. Just ask Seattle what the hell happened after Wilsons pay day.

1- They will not enter salary cap purgatory . All of our key players like Donald , gurley , cooks are locked to 4-5 year contracts .

2- I am debating the game rams x saints here , not which team has more fans or hot cheerleaders . I could care less about this .

3- The rams fan base will keep growing ( not like I give a damn , but anyway ) , rams were a pathetic team for too long , it started to change last year only , after sean mcvay was selected to be the coach . I am a fan since 1999.

4- We don't need home field advantage , we win regardless.

5- Last sunday there were a lot of other La sports games happening at the same time , in case you didn't know , including the dodgers x red sox FINALS .
