Randy Moss (1 Viewer)

no way, José

He has admitted to taking plays off. He plays "when he wants." He is not the type of player we should pursue. He is a cancer. Plus he is injury prone and not nearly the caliber of receiver he was in Minnesota.

Straight cash, Homey!

i'd give up a third for him...think about it every nfl team has a window for a few years to wi it all..we are in our window, might as well make some moves to win now mixed in with other younger player for the future...
sign him to a 3 yr deal and throgh in some incentives and restrictions that if he screws up you can cut him without too much cap damage...
it would be like hirng a contract killer for a single job....once we kill the bears and the afc champs we can let him go..

If we trade Joe, I sure would love to see Moss in a Saint jersey. What's one year? I think Payton is the type that could settle Moss down. Plus he really hasn't been in the funny papers in a while. I understand he frustation for nevery getting the ball. One would think, as bad as the Raiders Offense was they would try to get him the ball early and often.

Heck yeah I would trade for Moss for a 2nd rounder. Regardless of his troubles, he could not breakup this team. He would be amazing and Drew probably would win MVP. He would eliminate the need for a TE. We could focus the rest of the offseason on defense. I would guess his stats to be somewhere around:

80 catches 1,200-1,300 yards recieving and 13-15 TD's.

I think he was just upset with the team for the most part. Oakland was horrible this past year.

I think it would be interesting for him to be in black and gold but not necessary.

So you'd want to chance him turning on our team the moment things don't go the way he thinks that they should for him? God, no. We don't need that kind of potential distraction when we are on the cusp of greatness...

Answer me this....when has moss been a distraction really?
He's been frustrated in oakland and the last year in minny when culpepper sucked.
He's not a choir boy but most accounts suggest he's a social misfit and introvert who has trouble dealing with many people..he's country in a lot of ways according to this SI article i read a while back. yeah he smokes weed yeah he gets frustrated but c'monn who among us hasn't lit up now and again. weed hurts no one but the user. he's no tank johnson. no michael irvin. he doesn't yell at his coaches,...he may make stupid remarks in interviews about the coaching staff but most of what he says is dead on...art shell is an idiot, so was mike tice...culpepper sucked that last year, so do teh raiders. his words only reflect that he feels his amazing talent is being wasted and he's ******. bring him here and he will say nothing but great things about this organization after the fans adore him.. he's not owens by any means...and he's exponentially better

You really think the fans here are going to adore him after so many comments you read here? The easily frustrated tempermant shows a lack of self control (evident in the stupid comments he's made many times over). He places himself above the team and that attitude just won't work here. How many of our guys want to be worshipped like a superstar?

You just wait for the first local paper or sports broadcast to say something negative about him and watch how fast he turns on his team (assuming that coach Payton is monumentally stupid enough to recruit him in the first place).

they loved ricky williams here and he's just as psychotic/bipolar as randy. you'll be surprised at how you feel when the ******* becomes your *******..it's kinda like having a retard as a brother. he's a retard but you'll always love him cuz he's in the family.

as far as worshipped like a superstar. he is a superstar. all his life he's been told he's the greatest, he doesn't know how else to act. not to mention he probably didnt ahve the best upbringin the world so that explains his social interactions with the media. he's proud and has an ego but so many things point to a shy introverted misfit that just needs to the right fit. which i think we would be given our coaching situation and the critical mass of core character guys we have amassed. we have deuce, drew, faine, j.brown, fujita, hollis, reggie among others who control the boat..they won't let randy rock it. oakland is a bunch of ingrate thugs with no leaders and a horribly obnoxious fan bas culture. minny the last few years has been a shipwreck no pun intended..new orleans resembles neither....
i think we give him a shot..would be a great story. people like to be apart if regenerations and come backs, rebuilding etc. this is america...

if moss could come in and be a model citizen / teammate and great player I would say jump all over him. Problem is I don't see any way that would ever happen.

Michael Irvin is a coke head and a punk also, and he wheres 3 Super Bowl rings.
T.O. is a punk and head case but when he was in the Super Bowl with Philly
he played like a MVP.
In fact there plenty of a**hole players that helped teams win Championships.

If this team thought he was the player we needed to get a super bowl win i would be all for it. I don't think they will bring him in though, he doesn't seem like a S. Payton type of player.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I'd rather the Saints be 8-8 every year with character guys then win with knuckleheads like Moss or TO.

Thankfully, Payton and company has shown that you don't need to sell your soul to win in this league. By the way, so did the Colts.

that's pretty much it.....frustrated to no end and he unfortunately let it affect his play.

at one point I would have said no way, but that is such an tantalizing thought with him and this offense

Well i am a christian and
would like to see the Saints win without selling there soul also, but i don't think bringing in Moss would be selling your soul, i see Moss as a moody emotional guy
that says the wrong thing with microphones in his face, but he's not the devil.
Your not gone get 53 choirboys on a NFL team anyway, i think Moss could be amazing playing with this offense and indoors also, he's been double and triple teamed since he went to Oakland, here he wouldn't be the only weapon.

The guy is in large part misunderstood. And I RARELY say that about anyone. He's smarter than people think, and he just wants to win. I say get on it. Then he can tell Brees, "Thoe me thu allyoop, an we git dis thang stawted!"... Holy Geez, our offense would be crazy-wild throwup good.

As appealing as "crazy-wild throwup good" is, I still say no. Hard to misunderstand when an guy admits to take plays off.
