Rank who you like most of the 8 confirmed HC candidates plus Gruden (1 Viewer)

For me it's Glenn beyond any doubt. He has worked with two high profile HC's, He is a former NFL player, so he shall have player's respect more so then a Cullen Moore, he will clean house on the defence and hopefully in conditioning.
I just hope he keeps Kubiak because of what I saw in the first two games last year before the whole thing blew-up because of injuries and DA who was clue less as a leader.

Serious question, what makes you think Moore would be a good head coach? He is just an OK OC.
Dallas had a pretty good offense while he was the OC (2019-2022) under both Garrett and McCarthy, but does anyone know if he was the playcaller?

I'm intrigued by him, as his resume is a little reminiscent of Payton's -- college quarterback, had a cup of coffee in the NFL but was too undersized, assistant coach and then OC for more than one team, not one of the "hot" names but has built a resume working under different head coaches with different types of quarterbacks.

I'd be interested to know what he's like in front of a room full of players, though, and, beyond the X's and O's, whether he has the kind of personality that would command the room.

Aaron Glenn is my number one. He has experience with the organization. It may allow us to keep Kubiak. The Saints Lions ties are strong with Dan Campbell and Glenn along with a few players.
Our major problems are on defense. Offense needs to stay healthy but getting Glenn and drafting a premium defensive lineman to fill DT alongside Bresee or replace Jordan is a must.
We need two new safeties. I do not want Vrabel particularly if that comes with Josh McDaniels. Tom Brady made a lot of coaches look better than they are.

I do not want Kliff Kingsberry. Jayden Daniels makes him look better than he is.
Moore could not make it San Diego and just benefits from the talent on the Eagles.

Glenn has made an injury plagued defense still competitive in Detroit. That speaks to coaching more than fielding a roster of pro bowlers.

I don't know about Kubiak. He had the worst offense (ranked 32nd) in the NFL in the 2H of games. He constantly showed that regardless of injuries or any of that, he could not adjust once teams adjusted to him at halftime. I guess the jury is still out on him, but it is really hard to judge. We did well against, at the time, 2 of the worst teams in the NFL. Then we did not do well again all year but rarely ever were in a good spot due to health.

We scored 7.7 points in the 2H on average. Almost 6 points below the season before (I understand injuries) but I’m more concerned with the lack of adjustments which was a knock on Kubiak even prior to his stop here.

Glenn's defenses have not been that good since he has been in Detroit. I think that gets overshadowed by how good the offense is. What is odd is that their biggest weakness has consistently been the pass defense, which should be his specialty.

Let me put in my mickey Loomis hat......oh wow....this hat fits pretty tight. Our next coach is already in the building.

Vrabel is going to NR or an outside chance LV
After watching a bunch of videos on Glenn I'm fine with him. He's a leader and passionate. I would hope he retains the whole offensive staff.
I'd also be good with Kingsbury, Rattler might have a chance with him and his time in AZ he was not the problem
Moore and Kafka would be my 3rd and 4th choices
I wish we would have asked to interview Coen because I think he may be ready

No one says he's racist, but he got in trouble using racist language and homophobic slurs in professional emails. It's a PR nightmare, I'm sure professional athletes have played for coaches that use bigoted language before in America, It was something someone as intelligent as him should have known better than to do. I believe when people think no one is looking they will show you who they are. Plenty of fans and media would be Hella-upset if we hired Gruden to be our head coach.

I don't think he will ever be a head coach in the NFL again, but I hear he enjoys his gig at Barstool and doing some consulting in the NFL on the side.

He's not getting any younger and can't be much of a long term solution anyway.

Let's just put that idea to bed.
His racist language while not a good thing is less racist and more dumb and locker room talk.

In an email to Washington Football Team president Bruce Allen, Gruden called the NFLPA's executive director, DeMaurice Smith, "Dumborris Smith," and said that "he had lips the size of michellin tires."

Not defending Gruden but he could have just as easily told a “your momma” joke. He was belittling the man because he thought he was an idiot not because he was black.

I don't see all of you alls fascination with Brady besides he was OC at LSU. At LSU that team was stack with talent the same at Buffalo. His time at Carolina would be what he would do here.
Just for clarification, he wasn’t the OC. He was the passing game coordinator.

It's a bit more than "just" racism.
This article is from a few years ago.

I have problems w/Gruden because of his actual record(NOT the record people think they remember), his age, his complete lack of coaching up a QB(w/2 sort of exceptions) & the real chance that the current game has left him behind. I also know that my opinion(informed or not) has no bearing on the Saints hire. If he gets the job, I'm behind him 100%, but I don't see him as truly viable candidate.

I know that this means nothing to everyone onhere, but I prefer Todd Monken.
i would be interested in todd monken also......he should at least get an interview.......but i get the feeling the decision on hc has just about been made.......my money is on glenn..... mostly because he would probably keep the present offensive staff intact

didn't he also refer to Goodell as a "pursey"? I think THAT is what got him in trouble. NFL is fine with racist commentary and misogynistic overtones, but Roger won't tolerate the assassination of his character & legacy. LOL!

Honestly I don’t care who we hire from that list with the exception of Gruden. I would rather the Saints draw a random HS coach name from a hat and name them the next HC than hire Gruden.

As for the rest of the candidates… I just want new blood. A new scheme or identity. New concepts… if it doesn’t work and we win 2-3 games I wouldnt even be mad. Just do something different. Despite records and season results or who was the coach or qb I feel like I’ve been watching the same game every week for the last 5-6 years. For better or worst, I wanna see something new.
