Reggie Bush College days revisited.. (2 Viewers)

He hasn't had a great start, but the kid is way too talented to not turn it around. If you look at all the rookies in the NFL, it's very difficult to find any who are tearing up the league right now other than Colston. Reggie is 21 years old and he has a lot of football ahead of him. Be patient with him. In the mean time we have Deuce to show him the ropes.

Your right. Let's give him some time, but it is getting a little late. Reggie was not built like a running back. At 5'11 and 203 pounds, he looks and is built like a slot receiver. Why can't we just put him there? That is where he is getting positive yards. Position changes are not rare in the NFL. I say, let's try it.

Don't even get me started on Colston. That man is a beast. Plus by the way he is playing, an automatic ROY.

I should have explained further. No defensive coordinators are doing that now.

Did you get a chance to read the link to the thread I posted? Did you get a chance to watch the last game in slow motion on a dvr?

I completely disagree that teams are not game planning to stop both Deuce and Reggie. Tampa, without a doubt, did it.

If you watch sports, you know that even the greatest of players struggles as a rookie. I've witnessed so many players enter professional sports with all this hype surrounding them and they come in and people are so quick to point out their flaws. All of a sudden, everyone forgets about the player and writes him off as slow or whatever, but three years later he's one of the best players in the league and everyone is back on the bandwagon.

A perfect example. Yao Ming of the Houston Rockets. There was a TON of hype surrounding him too. His first year in the league he displayed a lot of positive things but people wanted to compare him to shaq and they wrote him off because he looked too slow and not aggressive enough. Well, 4 years later he's averaging 27 points a game and he's one of the best players in the league.

My point is, stop focusing on the negative things with Reggie and look at the positives. He makes big plays in key moments(punt return, several first down catches), he has great hands, and he's fast. He will improve.

Of course they are planning to stop them (especially Deuce), they just aren't losing sleep over playing Reggie Bush the next day.

I agree though, Reggie needs more time to become a great NFL player. Just right now, that 55 million dollar contract doesn't add up to his performance so far. He has had one great punt return (we know what game that was), but has been average on all kick offs and punts. He has made several catches for the first down. That is why I think he needs to be placed at slot receiver.

This doesn't make sense. You said "no defensive coordinators" were game planning to stop Reggie. I happen to include Deuce in this as well since they are both running backs. The link I posted (and I bumped the thread for you to read) shows that teams are as of our very last game sticking 8 and even 9 guys in the box to stop the run. This is why we had to throw a lot last game. Read the link and watch the Tampa game again in slow mo this time and I think you will see that your comment that "no defensive coordinators" are game planning to stop the run is incorrect.

Again, they are not as worried about Reggie Bush anymore. They are planning on stopping the run, of course, because Duece is in the backfield gaining yards. They are not "afraid" of Reggie anymore. That was all that I am saying. Defenseive Coordinators aren't worried about Reggie anymore. They will try to stop him when he gets the ball, like you are suppose to do in football.

Okay I read it and see what you are saying. They are planning on stopping the run. All I am saying is that they are not losing sleep over Reggie anymore.

Really? Deuce=15 attempts on 32 yards last game and ranks 25th in the league in rushing.

Again, it simply is not our rbs fault. Teams stick 8 or 9 guys in the box cause this. Again, try reading that other link.

I think it's great that you've called every defensive coordinator in the league to get this information. Good work!

Look defenses hardly ever game plan against a certain player. They're going to play their style of defense until the offensive player makes them adjust. They game plan against team strengths, but hardly ever against specific players unless youre steve smith or michael vick.

The fact is, Reggie Bush must be accounted for. If he is lined up against a LB he will beat you. If he is given space, he will burn you. You have to account for Reggie Bush. He may not be having a very productive year, but all it takes is one play to change a game, and Bush is still capable of that.

2 weeks ago he was top 10 in the league, and had the second highest ypc of those guys in the top 10. Throw in one week's worth of the passing game crapping the bed early and DIRECTLY putting us in a hole, making us have to pass even more, and another week against a still-respectable front 7, and it's not a surprise his numbers have taken a hit.

Guys, I love having Reggie Bush just like the rest of you, but I'm personally sick of the over used "DECOY" excuse. He needs to grow a pair and step up big during the second half! Yeah... Yeah... He's a rookie. Well, he's got 8 games under his belt. I'm no longer considering him a rookie. IT’S TIME TO STEP UP REGGIE!

LET’S GO SAINTS!!!

11-5 and a chance at the Super Bowl would be a great season.

The running game as a whole needs to step up. The O-line needs to step up, Payton needs to call running plays at the right time, Karney needs to step...It's not just Reggie. Deuce hasn't exactly torn it up the last couple of weeks either.

Yes, but so far this year:

Deuce: 111 Attempts for 487 yards, with a 4.4 yard average. Long was 57 yards. Five touchdowns, four runs over 20 yards, and 26 first downs made

Reggie: 81 Attempts for 207 yards, with a 2.6 yard average. 0 touchdowns, no runs over 20 yards. Seven first downs made.

Again, I am only talking about rushing. Reggie's rushing yards are poor. His recieving stats are good, though. Let's compare Reggie with a rookie on another team. Wali Lundy, of the 2-6 Houston Texans has started three games, and played in four. He shares time with Samkon Gado. Here are his stats in four games:

Wali: 74 Attempts for 309 yards, with a 4.2 yard average. Long was 35 yards. Three additional runs for 20 yards or more. 18 first downs made.

In the end, 6-2 matters the most.

The Texans and Kubiak have a run first offensive philosophy. They want to run the ball. That is what they do. We are a pass first team right now. The stats are meaningless. You have to look at the circumstances. The Saints are 6-2 and that is all that matters. Reggie has been a big part of that.

Man, I can not wait for him to have a good game so all of this madness stops. Does anyone really know how lucky we are to have Reggie Bush? You guys are way too impatient.
