They've done it before - remember the mid 80s show with Valerie harper called Valerie?

I don't remember the specifics, I think it was salary demands so they killed her off rebranded the show Valerie's Family then the Hogan Family - I think the show lasted 4 or 5 seasons without Valerie - The major difference was Valerie was fired after the first season I believe

It'll be much harder to do in season 10 with Roseanne

Didn't like her original show. Watched the new one once to see how Emma Kennedy (Debbie Gallagher) looked in her new role. Rosanne's brand of snide sarcasm and her voice don't play well with me. Didn't miss her the first time she dropped off the grid. Won't miss her this time either.

Howard Cosell lost his job for less.

I was shocked that ABC/Disney brought the show back but still refused to watch it and it had nothing to do with politics, I don't like her, never have and never will.

Is she that indispensable though? For a lead character in the title role, you could make the argument that she was never even the most interesting character on the show and it was always more plot-driven or thematically-driven anyway. I think they could totally make a show without her and people would watch it.

This + giving her the Charlie Sheen treatment is really more a slight than just outright cancellation imo.
