Sad news...sr.com member St. PJ has passed away (1 Viewer)

Prayers for his wife, girls, parents, and extended family. Prayers for him to hear those beautiful words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Saying a kaddish in PJ's honour:

Glorified and sanctified be G-d's great name throughout the world which He has created according to His will. May He establish His kingdom in your heart and during your days, and within the heart of his entire church, speedily and soon; and say, Amen.

May His great name be blessed forever and to all eternity.

Blessed and praised, glorified and exalted, extolled and honored, adored and lauded be the name of the Holy One, blessed be He, beyond all the blessings and hymns, praises and consolations that are ever spoken in the world; and say, Amen.

May there be abundant peace from heaven, and life, for us
and for all nations; and say, Amen.

He who creates peace in His celestial heights, may He create peace for us and for all nations; and say, Amen.
Amen

Just communicated with P.J.’s wife, Jessica. She passes along the following:

I don't have access to post on the Saints Report but if you can write this for me..

Thank you to everyone who sent their condolences. For those that are wondering, PJ had NO health issues and was a NON-smoker. He tested positive in a Saturday and by the following Saturday it completed drained his body.
Please get vaccinated! It can change anyone's life in a matter of days.

Wow, so saddened to hear this. Condolences to his family.

That’s crazy, I think that’s really unusual for it to progress that quickly.

Thanks for the info. It’s good to know that the family knows he’s missed here.

What terrible news. He was such a pleasure to read stuff from. Incredibly knowledgeabl.

As far as covid goes, it's crazy how differently it affects people. My wife and I got it at the exact same time. She felt bad for three days and that was it. I felt the worst I've ever felt in my life, with her ultimately bringing me to the emergency room one morning. I didn't walk out of those doors until a week later, and was told if I had waited one more day that I wouldn't haven't made it. I'm in excellent health also.

Would you mind saying what your age is?

I'm 37, 6'5", 290 lbs, 7% bodyfat.
Glad you recovered . you are a good example of why this virus is so insidious. You don't know how it will affect you. I lost a 28 year old coworker who caught it and died a week later. Another C0-worker caught it,and missed a month of work. His doctor believes he's suffered long term heart and liver damage.

There are two good threads on the EE about Covid if anyone wants to chime in. The latest research says it's recommended for anyone who caught the virus to still get vaccinated. The vaccines build more anti-bodies than catching the actual virus. It isn't a joke and it can kill healthy people.

And there are idiots out there still saying it's the flu or it only affects older people or people with comorbidities, when there is example after example of both of those assumptions being not only false, but dangerous assumptions. People still out there peddling that crap are criminals.

Wow. Very sobering. Glad you're doing well.
Thank you for that.

Prayers going out for PJ's family.

If it's not too much, I ask for prayers for my wife's best friend's husband who has covid. Highly respected member of the community, husband, father to two pre-teens, 15 year old ex-marine, 15 years law enforcement. Got life flighted to Houston two months and has been ICU ever since, with a projected five more months there. Hanging on by a thread.

Article about him.
