Saints 1st pick 2024 (1 Viewer)

good pick but i would be shocked if they pick someone from a school any of us has ever heard of.
Trevor Penning aside, when’s the last time they did that in the first round? They’ve played first-round picks pretty well down the line. There has been some weird mid-late round scavenging, and there’s five Rufus Johnsons for every Jahri Evans.

Last year's picks came from Clemson, Notre Dame, TCU, Old Dominion, Fresno State, Minnesota and Wake Forret. Ever heard of those schools?

  • Round 1, Pick 29 (from DEN via MIA and SF)
    Bryan Bresee, DT, Clemson
  • Round 2, Pick 40
    Isaiah Foskey, EDGE, Notre Dame
  • Round 3, Pick 71
    Kendre Miller, RB, TCU
  • Round 4, Pick 103 (from CHI)
    Nick Saldiveri, OT, Old Dominion
  • Round 4, Pick 127 (from JAX)
    Jake Haener, QB, Fresno State
  • Round 5, Pick 146
    Jordan Howden, S, Minnesota
  • Round 6, Pick 195 (from DEN)
    A.T. Perry, WR, Wake Forest

If Foskey would have showed any promise at all this would be looking like a really solid draft

It’s called a joke.

Just based on the play of Bresee this year, it is already a solid draft...
You throw in the play of Howden and it is a good draft...
Add AT Perry's play the last 1/4th of the season and now it is an excellent draft!

The other 4 players are young and could develop which would make the 2023 an incredible draft!

Yup, we are low on draft capital. SMDH
Got 9 picks, 4 are 5th round maybe one of those will be 4th round. Lot of good players in those rounds. Heck, we got Howden and A.T. Perry late. They can bring in some youth and they are probably trading some players for picks. Although keeping DA is abysmal, we can start a youth movement before we get the next coach.

I think we may grab EDGE if there. Someone like Jared Verse out of FL State.
I think you're right. Edge or Tackle. Hard to argue against those needs. But man, having a game breaking TE like Bowers sure would be nice. I'm so jealous of these teams that effortlessly move the ball up and down the field with these awesome TEs. I remember what it was like with Jimmy. He was so OP it was ridiculous.

Bowers would be a really solid pick-up, no doubt.

Peat can’t even stay healthy. Even in the last game, he got hurt towards the end. Penning is going into year 3 and can’t even beat our 3rd stringer. Saints need to stop drafting player from no name school and expect them to be good. Terron Armstead was an outliner. He had an amazing combine and was an athletic freak. Penning not so much as he was getting school by our 3rd string dline in practice.
Peat only missed one game in 2023. It was due to a concussion. 2023 was the healthiest season of his 9 year career. We can stop the narrative that Peat’s always hurt. Injuries happen in football. Many players play through them like Peat has throughout the season while others on the team haven’t.
