Saints 2007 Draft (1 Viewer)

This has probably been suggested before, but I didn't see it, so...

How about picking up Glenn Davis (LSU Basketball) as a free agent to play tight end? With the basket ball player -> TE success stories in the league, I can't see why this would be a terrible idea.

I want Patrick Willis. But this whole super TE making our offense unstoppable theory is very intiguing.

Because he'll be a mid to late first round NBA pick next year...

If we finish well and I suspect we will, we will be drafting in the bottom half of the pack. Thats usually the prime place to go for BPA. After the last draft it seems BPA is a decent philosophy. After all who had Roman Harper on their want list pre-draft last year? It wasn't me.

That being said if we draft a RB first round picking toward the bottom, I will be plenty fine with that. Thats usually where you find a good RB. Even though we have 2 great ones and cabaple back-ups depth as it turns out is always important.

I would love to have some LBs and stud lineman, but I also have growing confidence that SP will find away to make whoever he selects fit the TEAM and make it stronger.

Never pick CB's in the first get a MLB or DT

cb's are made by the pass rush people..

I have to diagree with that. I was down on DeLo Hall, but he is pretty good.

Not all the first round corners have been stinker picks. Dont be overly soiled by the Molden selection.

- Champ Bailey is not bad
- Chris McAllister is pretty good
- Shawn Springs
- 1990 Bears nabbed Mark Carrier
- Deion Sanders
- Rod Woodson
- Darrell Green
- Mike Haynes
- Jimmy Johnson (1961 - 49ers)
- Herb Adderley

Granted their are plenty of second round gems as well:
- Patrick Surtain
- Samari Rolle
- Fred Thomas
- Ashley Ambrose
- Eric Allen
- Dave Waymer
- Lem Barney
- Mel Renfro

Our defense has been the weakest spot. If we drafted offense heavily (and TE in particular) I would be upset. Draft some strong defenders, LB, CB, DT, I don't care. Just tighten up this defense. :)

Is he projected to go that high?

I don't watch much college basketball - mainly the NCAA tournament - but I figured if he were projected that high, he would have come out after his junior year.

In that case, I still think bringing in a college center is not a terrible idea as far as looking for a TE goes.

I would rather go after DE and Briggs in FA.

Unfortunately, Briggs isn't going anywhere; the Bears won't let him walk. Besides, MLB is more of a pressing need; Shanle has played well and Fujita's a possible Pro-Bowler. How come we haven't seen much of Danny Clark?

Bear Fans seem to think he is gone after this season they all talking about who they going to draft to replace him. Agree on the MLB being more imporant. This Defense needs a face and I am not sure a rookie coming in can do that right off. I love Fujita put some talent around him and he will shine even brighter.

I am waiting for the usual "Let's draft LSU player X" posts to solve all of our problems

it really all depends on what we do in FA..it really does.

this draft will be exciting cause payton and co will have a pick or 2 in each round ..imagine if he can pick nearly the same players who will produce the way our rookies have now?? were going to be loaded at positions.

but in the 1st, i really want Buster Davis at MLB'er...this guy is a BEAST and is fast, smart and tough...would transform this D and will most likely be there in the middle or late when we pick.
