I hope people aren’t going to flood threads with comments like this. You don’t realise how bad you have to be to draft number 1. This team isn’t close to bad enough. We just won 7 games with a load of injuries and Andy Dalton.

We’re closer to 10+ wins than 3 wins which is why this is a great move.

Amen! I hate hearing talk of "tanking" for anyone....
1. Winning is a habit; so is losing. why would anyone willingly embrace a BAD habit?
2. There's no guarantee the future prospect will be available at our slot in that future year!

But we're all fans here, so in an effort to give EVERYONE something to root for.....if you're going to embrace the "tank for ________ philosophy", just adjust the window of your time frame. Our next QB is likely to get a 3-4 year contract, and that's about the time frame for Arch Manning to get drafted. His grandfather was a pretty damn good QB; his uncle Peyton went to 4 SBs, winning 2 of them, and can stake a claim to the "GOAT" title; and his uncle Eli went 2-0 in SBs. Arch Manning is about the closest thing to a SURE THING at QB that we'll ever see.

So go ahead and embrace whomever the Saints sign for the next 3-4 years, and you can secretly root for the "tank for Arch" strategy. LOL!
