I’m certain we’re gonna pay him big - but that’s just what the market is to sign a veteran starter these days. People are gonna cry about it but you can either pay for a guy like Carr (and somebody wold have paid him what we’re gonna pay him) or you take your chances on a rookie . . . but if you’re not picking in the top 10, the odds grow further and further against you. For every mid to late first round QB success, there’s a string of failures.

I’m ehh about this. I don’t think he’s a bad QB. he’s obviously not on a Drew Brees level but he’s better that a Dalton/Jameis combo. I still have little to no faith in this coaching staff and it’s ability to win games but we’ll see and I’ll hope I’m wrong. Either way this makes me want to take a mid QB pick (hoping for Hooker in the 3rd) just to develop.

Despite what some may say....., Carr is a leader, great in the locker room, good Christian guy, and will recruit some good players here. I for for one am REALLY excited !!

I like the optimism. And really hope you are correct. I'm not feeling it but will be the first to tell you if I'm wrong. But he is a Saint now, and for that reason alone, I hope he is the next coming of Drew Brees, Patrick Mahommes, and Tom Brady all wrapped up as one.

We could always fit Carr, it will be at the cost of other signings but this is the path that Loomis et al believes is the next best step forward.
