Saints and State close to lease extension/major renovation (2 Viewers)

That's like watching it on TV, except with a reeeeallyy lifelike surround system. Not sure I'd dish out money to just stand there and not see the field.

I get where you're coming from, but at AT&T stadium (Cowboys) their standing room only tickets are only $30.
I say if you could do that plus make a package deal for concessions where they're cheaper for that section, I don't see a downside. Of course they'd have to add a jumbotron in the center from the ceiling.

I'm actually worried about my endzone terrace seats.
I'm there with you. I'm right in the corner of the endzone and pray it's not the target of removal.

I've sat in 628 for 15 years. My family sits several seats in a row, which will be next to impossible to replicate elsewhere in the dome. I'd be pretty upset if that changed.

The concourses do need to be wider. Its very difficult to get around. I don't like the idea of removing the ramps, to me that looks to be the most efficient way to move that many people. My seats are in the corner endzone, so I hope the don't remove it for standing room only.

Missed opportunity to build a new riverfront open air with roof stadium. For the Saints for sure but the state and city too

Key point is the Saints are kicking in $150 million, about a third of the cost.

Agree with some other posters that its kind of disappointing that a new roof that lets light in or a retrofitted retractable roof/panels not included. The study announced last year was to consider that. I wonder what they came up and what the cost was. Obviously, they decided it wasn't financially doable at this time.

Glad to hear there was an extension. But i’m Not sure I like the idea of getting rid of the ramps. The ramps move lots of people relatively quickly. I just think escalators will probably get backed up. I know they do in the Smoothie King Center with a lot less people. Plus I have a lot of great memories going up and down those ramps as a kid and then watching my kids go up and down those ramps. Maybe I’m just nitpicking. I really do like that they are continuing to update the Dome and that the Saints will be here thru at least 2035.
To some extent I agree but I am positive that they know the current issues with the escalators. For one the area in the landing pads for them or too small causing bottlenecks. For another they should of had two to four of them side by side since they do not carry enough people.

What I would love to see is escalators that run the opposite directions of the current ones, basically sideways or much like the ramps move people. Then I would love to see longer escalators that carry you to the upper area without having to get off and get on another one. Different entry zones of the dome could be used for different levels. The extra room gained by removing 50% of the ramp area in use today would make for a much bigger dome and they could install bigger bathrooms in some of these areas!

If you want to have a heat stroke to watch football, by all means go right ahead. I’ll keep the Dome. **** an open air stadium with this heat and humidity.

You have never been to tiger stadium? And I said with a roof option...

But yeah, August through October would be brutal.

I want them to keep the Superdome EXACTLY as it is.

It’s one of the last few remaining “classic” stadiums.

Narrow walkways, the ramps, sure they are the most convienant and efficient ever, but I don’t care.

I’m only there for 10-12 games a year, we can handle it.

There’s something ultra special about the Dome. Keep it the way it is. (OK I’m cool with stuff like roof cleaned, but no structural changes please.).

I've been to Tiger Stadium. It's called Death Valley for a reason, especially day games during September.

I have and I rather not leave a football game drenched in sweat when I didn’t play in it. There’s a reason most of the home games are held at night.

Even in Miami they built that quasi-roof deal and the fans still bake in the heat, and that’s with the shade.

Isn't that support for why it would not be smart to have an open air stadium in New Orleans during football season? Between the heat, humidity and rain, there are not many Sundays that make it worth it to have an open air stadium.

This is great news! I would love to see 4 rectangular windows going around the stadium giving it a much more open feel from the inside and look amazing on the exterior. Would be cool to see the same done on the roof with maybe 3 windows that curve with the dome. Black tinited so you can see our but not much light going on. IMO that would change the look of the dome and look incredible.

If anybody has any good suggestions lmk and I’ll run it by Kyle France. Very close family friend and a great guy. They need more input from the fans who actually attend these games.

I'm the same, I absolutely love everything else about the plan.

I have so many memories walking up and down those ramps. Whether it was walking up and down them with my familly and friends getting the nervous energy out, or screaming the Who Dat chant at the end of the game while everyone is walking out.

It would be like renovating Fenway. You just dont, theres to much historical value on those ramps.
