Saints at the top of Davante Adams’ wish list [Raiders trade Adams to Jets for conditional 3rd ; Jets paying Adams’ entire remaining salary] (2 Viewers)

Rumors have it that the last snag in negotiations between the Saints and Raiders making a deal on Davantae Adams hinges on his abbreviated name here at SR.🤔

Dennis Allen owns the SR moniker of D.A. Some SR members are not willing to change while others have suggested a change to Dumb-A and yet others suggesting a title for Allen fitting with the respect Sean Payton receives here by referring to him as CDA.

Adams wants the D.A. moniker dropped here altogether so there is not any confusion.

He wants to be known here as Devine Acquisition!

Make it Happen Loomis!
Where you dropped the ball is that he ALWAYS goes by TAY , not DA

Well, if CO was so dang elite, then our team probably wouldn’t even consider going after Adams. Yet here we are. Sometimes yall tend to overvalue our players. Can anyone on this board honestly say that CO would be hard to replace?
Adams and Olave are two different types of receivers. Adams plays alot like Michael Thomas, short-intermediate routes. Olave is more of a speedier receiver that is a crisp route runner, but he’s not making those short first down tough catches. You can be an elite receiver and play with another elite receiver that compliments you.

Adams in the slot running short to intermediate routes.

The new "Slant Boy" the Saints lack now.

A 1st Down Machine!

Move Dem Chains!

Then out wide getting physical and getting his there as well.

The Dude had 100 catches, 1500+ yards and 14 TDs just 2 years ago with Carr throwing to him.

Adams in this offense is more of a game controller than a game dominator. The Saints have speed in Olave, Shaheed, and Tipton. What they lack is a receiver that can get open on demand, when everyone knows he's getting the ball, and he's able to get open and make the catch anyway. When 3rd and 7 is automatic your team is unstoppable. Adams is more than that, but that is what the Saints lack. The running game could be even more potent when the defense has to defend the entire field.
The funny thing is the original Slant Boy would actually be pretty good in this offense if we could get some protection up the middle and he would be much cheaper. Too bad he's a head case that took a blow torch to the bridge on his way out.

Lol, there are many non-WRs that throw tantrums. Nice try tho. All you did was name passionate players who are not malcontents. Except for Diggs. That guy can go to hell for all I care. Oh and Aiyuk can bite me as well. Give me anyone of those others easily
You can stand your ground all you want on this one but you’re way off. CO for DA as things stand now would be a mistake of epic proportions. And, yes, WR salaries are out of control, that’s why you keep the good draft pick and exercise the fifth year option.

Yeah, that's crazy for crazy's sake. Olave hasn't even hit his prime yet.

He would solve the issue of depth at WR, but I'm not sure that does a whole lot to improve the overall chances of the team. We play a lot of 2 receiver sets and teams like S.F. and Miami, which run similar offenses, barely even use their 3rd WR even if they are in 11 personnel. And Miami throws a good bit more than we do. Adding Adams means Shaheed is on the field for less snaps or at least is a later option in the read progression in 11 which limits maybe our most dangerous weapon. In addition, the core of this offense is that ability to run the ball and that is dependent on a patch work OL, Kamara playing with broken ribs, and Hill out with broken ribs. Kubiak has done a great job with this so far, but as the injuries pile up and you have to play 3 games in 10 days it could be too much for even Kubiak to adjust to.

With 3 games in 10 days the injury list is likely to get longer, not shorter because there will be no recovery time and you often get more injuries when players are playing on short rest. We could be 2-5 by the time Adams plays a down for this team. Not sure what he would be able to do at that point to get the team back in contention.

That being said, if they can come out of these 3 games at 4-5 then I think Adams might make a difference.

But, like I said, I hope I'm wrong and getting Adams would solve all the problems. And I agree with you about being fine with sending a 3rd round pick for Adams and a 2nd rounder being too much. Especially considering his age. Where I differ with you is while I'm find with the trade under those circumstances, I don't have a lot of hope that he can be the difference make to make this team a contender. With the injuries we have, this team should just be shooting to make the playoffs and I think that will depend on health and they can do that with or without Adams.
So if we were to run 3 wide our 3rd WR is ??? Tipton? Means, Wilson ?? that should strike fear in the hearts of the D. Also with Tay our 2 WR set would be him and CO a damn good tandem. Also is not just anther very good WR Tay is a perfect fit for us because his strengths are rout running , getting open and the contested catch

So tell me which top tier, or even above avg O lineman is available for trade right now? BUt we DO have a top 6-7 WR available for trade @ a position of need
None, so we have lost the last two games because we don't have talent at WR? Do you just want to acquire another big contract for gp? Pass.

That’s your opinion and it’s not fact. CO while on this cheap contract you speak of, does not dominate a defense. Which leaves a team looking for another playmaker. That is fact

we wont get him. guarantee it. Dont get your hopes up on saving this season its over.
