Saints expected to be very interested in former Packers/Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy [McCarthy will interview early next week] (15 Viewers)

Half the fans hated Brooks, the other half hated Jake. Those were the days. :hihi:
Brooks was very good for several years. I’d put Brooks right (well not right but way behind) Drew in the QB pecking order for the Saints. He accomplished a lot more than the rest.

I wanted Doug Pederson, but now Mike McCarthy becomes my #1 choice. Besides the fact that he has history w the Saints, and has a winning record and SB success. I would love nothing more than for him to come here and have more success than he had in Dallas to stick it to Jerrah.
Also, we’d basically be hiring SP 2.0. They have nearly identical records. Over .600 regular season winning %, .500 playoff %, 1 SB victory, have made playoffs around 60% of the season’s they’ve coached(actually McCarthy 67%, they’re leas than 2 months apart in age.

He would be the least energizing choice for the fan base because there is no surprise factor with him. But he is the safest choice. The track record is right there.

Kingsbury seems like Dennis Allen part 2. Losing head coach. Losing record in college. Losing record in pros. But somehow it'll be different with us?
He had Patrick Mahomes for three years and still couldn't put anything together. He's like Chip Kelly but people still buy the hype for some reason.

I didn't hate either, but I did think Brooks was better. But I also think that Delhomme should have started when Brooks was clearly hurt.
Exactly how I see it as well. Brooks was clearly better when healthy, and Jake would have been capable enough when Brooks was hurt. I blame Haslett for screwing up that mess.
