Breaking! Saints fired Dennis Allen (12 Viewers)

I suppose the notion that’s been floating around for a while that Allen was gone if the Saints missed the playoffs was still kind of true here.

The loss yesterday all but mathematically eliminated the Saints from the playoffs with 8 games remaining.

That’s pretty wild - considering how close we actually came to getting in the past 3 seasons.

It had to happen this way or nothing would have been done.

Most coaches are going to get three seasons, and it’s rare for a coach to get fired coming off a winning season in his second season of a stint.

it wasn’t long ago a lot of people on this board were certain Allen wouldn’t start Rattler.

I don’t know, I don’t think this team is the decision-making outlier some think they are. We aren’t that far removed from our best era. The Allen hire didn’t work out. Hopefully they get it right next time. If Loomis needs to go, I hope they figure that out, too.
Fwiw, I have it on good authority that Allen didn’t start Rattler, he was told to.

Put some respect on MTs name he contributed to this. He got the memo..

"Gayle Benson began meeting with players last week to get a feel for what was wrong with the Saints. At the end, she and the organization decided to act"

He is winning for this organization even when he isn't even in it.

“Loomis / the team won’t make a change because reasons.”

Another narrative on this board that was wrong.

That's one way to look at it.....but it seems the consensus that Gayle did the deed and not Loomis.....

The other way to look at it is once again the Saints held onto an obviously incompetent HC and wasted 3 years, that the fans had to suffer through.....

Here's to finding another competent HC soon!!!!!!

yet another Underhill article he has been sitting on.

Ugh.
Didn't he just recently say that Saints may not move on from DA. Not sure he had any info but may make it look like he did now.

I really dislike seeing bad things happen to people. Ya, he wasn't finding success. To be fair, he never should've been considered for the job unless he was place holding for SP to come back.

It's a shame he was put into a position where he has proven to struggle again. I feel bad for him and his family and hope the best, happiest, loving lives for them.
Amen!!!!

The FAILURE goes all the way back to the hiring of DA as HC!

What has Kubiak done to prove he deserves a shot?

The offense has been predictable and abysmal for the most part.
Hard to be a good OC when DA let the entire team implode beneath him. We all know Rizzi isn't THAT guy, so I'd like to see what Kubiak can do without DA. Worst case is you fire him with the new staff that comes in, no? At least you can say you tried.
