Saints fired OL coach Doug Marrone (2 Viewers)

Makes since, the scheme is changing so the coaching has to.

Marrone shaped the best 5 to compete last year, he did his job, but the scheme suggest a more knowledge coach to insure the best and smoothist transition from one scheme to the next.

So I take it Kubiak is officially now the OC of the Saints..

Link??

NW.
Not officially hired until after the 49ers’ season is concluded on Feb 12. But the plan for Kubiak to become Saints OC is firmly in place. Position coach changes were likely discussed between Saints and Kubiak to implement his offensive scheme.

Truthfully, I'm more excited about that than the hiring of Kubiak.
That is exactly what I was thinking too. I didn't think Mickey had it in him honestly. I thought he was going to saddle Kubiak with the other coaches and then fire him for not making it work.

No he didn't, he took a decent OL in 21 and turned it into a swiss cheese QB killer in 2 yrs. Same thing he did @ ALA that's why Saban fired him after 1 yr. He had Penning and EVERY player on that OL regressing

People will probably still blame DA for things but at least he's addressing the issues and it doesn't seem like he's "keep doing what were doing".

This offseason start reminds me of the offseason where Payton FINALLY realized he had to can his defensive coaches..
This is a clear message to stay the course and was not coined by DA himself, with obvious shortcomings this year why would your head coach feed into the obvious issues on the team, so the media and fans can feel heard?

DA is a head coach, a leader, throwing his people under the bus or to the wolves to satisfy the bloodlust of the media and fanbase is cowardly.

DA like most coaches, held his team down and made the proper adjustments at the appropriate time, that being the off-season.

And DA made the change 1 season quicker than Payton did.

And here's to hoping that DA gets the same results this season from changing his OC, that Payton got the season after he finally changed his DC for the first time, unless there's a DC I forgot about before Williams.

Nope, you are correct. Payton hired Williams after he finally parted ways with Gibbs.

Better late than never I guess. Dude should've been fired DAY 1!!!!!!!

Very true! I personally started out supporting & believing in DA, but that all died this season. The one good thing about him though, is that he does ID issues & makes moves to try & address those problems. The results may not have turned out exactly how they looked on paper, but i have to respect the effort to make those changes. I hope the moves he makes this offseason pan out this time cause i really, REALLY, wanna like DA again.
