Personal preference, you keep Carr and you see if Rattler can beat him out in training camp. At the very least you hope it’s so close that you give it to player w/ higher ceiling
I'm with you on this too EJW.

Given that Carr's not the future, I desperately would like to flush that contract, take the hit, and move on; if for no other reason, it seems his contract is an obstacle to building out the rest of the roster. But realistically, it just doesn't seem financially prudent (maybe even not feasible?!). Your scenario is probably the best we can do for THIS season. And I have no qualms whatsoever about Carr being the highest priced and probably best backup QB in the league if Rattler is the choice.

Josh Sweat would be my preference of players to take from Philly. He single handedly neutralized Mahomes as part of a four man front and no blitzing. I think he should have been the MVP.

Was it Sweat or the scheme/gameplan executed perfectly by great talent?

Sweat benefitted from a perfectly executed gameplan.

I’m a fan of the Joe Milton talk some have bringing up lately.

I'd throw Malik Willis in as a possibility for a trade. He has looked good in some backup work in Green Bay this year and has the mobility that you would like to have. He was always going to be a guy that took time to develop coming from Liberty. Maybe he has? But, I'd defer to Moore on who he thinks he can work well with and who is worth the cost.

Absolutely. Only if a new QB comes into the picture would I want to change EJW’s plan. As for Carr as a backup, what happens if Rattler gets hurt? Haener or Carr? Rather obvious decision there.

Justin Fields is another athletic mobile QB who has NFL starter experience and has had the time to sit back and learn after being thrown to the wolves in Chicago.

He's a FA and Moore could lure him by pointing to the Eagles offense and say, we could build an offense around your strengths.

Sweat is saying that money is important but so is the right fit. I think we have a strong secondary, decent LB play, just need strength opposite Bresee. Sweat attacked both pass and run plays. Having one of his coaches could help.

Carter is the engine, he forces a double on just about every play. That said, I would be open to that idea but we're not ready for big-name FAs. When need the cap in shape and become competitive first.

And it was a smart move too. It kept KC close to the line so that those shot plays worked. I also loved that he kept taking shots to put the dagger in when many would have just kept running into the brick wall to run out the clock.
I swear I heard Kellen scream, "See Failcan'ts - THAT's how you close out a Victory in the Super Bowl!"

(Knowing he was going to be the new Saints HC and all...)

It depends. We need to get the cap right and we're going to lose A LOT of veteran talent to old age over the next two seasons. If the team looks competent and like it's going in the right direction yet losing close games I think fans will see that we're building something good that need time to come together. That is a huge difference what we just watched happen under DA, which was going from being a perennial threat to win it all to declining into one of the worst teams in the league. If the direction is pointing up, patience will come with it.
The metric for progress is the key, but I don't know any coach who gets three consecutive losing seasons, let alone two.
