I doubt people are going to freak out over that, but it is somewhat of a reality unless he's pulling from teams that just finished up. The pool is certainly much smaller today than it was 3 weeks ago.

I was reading up on him this morning, and couldn’t help but notice how few articles existed about his defensive chops that were written after the 2020 season with the Rams.

Yeah, he may not be the right guy or might not have had the right situation. My understanding is that being the Chargers head coach took his focus off the defense and then he was fired for not being great and HC. Then he was assistant HC with some defensive duties in SF for a year, but not the DC.

I am excited about Staley is his history as a linebackers coach. I'd love to see that area get revamped by a guy who knows that group really well as Demario gets closer to retirement.

I'm confused.

I thought the Saints were a dumpster fire organization, Mickey is a terrible GM, Mrs. B. is a terrible owner who needs to sell the team, no QBs, no cap space, and no talent, and one of the worst places anyone could ever be condemned to. And the Saints happen to sign maybe the hottest OC on the market in 2025 to be HC? Them must have had to overpay, right? Like it's my money he's stealing?

Or maybe all that was just BS in the first place.

You know some of those things can still be and are true. Let's not pretend like it's all roses and unicorn farts. We were searching for a head coach for a reason...

We made a good head coach hire, he's probably getting paid more and for longer than the head coach he was just working under. It's still going to be a long road ahead but at least we got a really smart guy to help lead the way.

I understand, but it was snarky toward the people that have concerns about getting good coaches as though that concern wasn't valid. It is valid, but we also now have the opportunity to poach coaches from some of the best teams in the league.

I really wish Loomis would say something like that but I doubt he will. We'll know what he's really doing by what happens and not by what he says.
