I see a lot of LSU fans complaining about the Saints taking Bo Davis. They're missing a pivotal thought. College is for coaches and players to compete for a time, grow and when they are good enough, or eligible, to turn pro.

Bo Davis has been ready for the NFL for some time now. LSU was lucky to have him last year instead of him making the NFL leap. We're extremely lucky he went to the Saints over any of the other 31 NFL teams he likely could've gone to.

So quit whining.
Bo Davis coached in the NFL for 3 different teams already. And he's taking less to go to the Saints. NIL pushed him back to the NFL

Can’t participate Saints are always first. I Root for ULL then .LSU
Always Ragin Cajuns that's where I attended and Graduated. I remember I had a Calculus professor my freshman year, when a student would come with an LSU shirt he always ask, why are you here and didn't apply there.

I went Saints only. I attended LA Tech, and watch more of their stuff (tough times lately after a decade of bowl wins under Skip Holtz) with greater interest. LSU I put on and watch, but it doesn't affect me in the least if they lose (kind of amusing actually to watch the fanbase meltdown). The Saints---season ticket holder since 2000, live or die on gameday, follow year round--coaching changes, free agency, draft, camps, etc. Don't do any of that for college.

I have always been a Saints first.
But i am also a big LSU fan.
but i pull for all Louisiana teams
Saints are in a league of their own in Louisiana, but when it comes to college, it's LSU first, Tulane second, Southern third, then everyone else. i pull for all Louisiana teams to win every week whether it be Football, Basketball, Baseball, Gymnastics, etc..

I'm not a big fan of college sports. The wild west of recruiting and high player turnover are a turn-off for me. I like the parity structure of the NFL more. Also, I graduated from UL and went to LA Tech for a bit, so I'm not tied to LSU. That said, I'll still check on their season occasionally and watch a few games.

Meanwhile, I know every player on the Saints roster and check for news every day.

So Saints first and LSU a far second. Really, the Pelicans would be the second.

If you live near Baton Rouge, check out the women's tennis team. Admission is free. They have recently beaten the #3, #4 and #7 ranked teams in the nation. Could make some noise down the stretch. Handful of games remaining before playoffs. Currently ranked 8th. Go Tigers!

The thing I don’t get about cfb fans’ apprehension to NIL is that they’ve supported it for decades when it was under the table and it favored them.
You didn’t hear any complaints from the big programs when they took a big time coach from a small school or paying players under the table.

Is NIL changing things? Yeah.
Are the big programs in rural areas in trouble, Probably.
Do i think the schools in metropolitan areas will dominate the sport by the 2030s? Yeah.

But don’t act like it’s amateurism CFB fans are worried about.
They’re worried about becoming West Virginia or Nebraska.
While Michigan, OSU, USC and the other big donor schools take over.

And I think i said this before in this thread or another, but I’ll say it again.
But, from a business standpoint the best thing for Gayle’s bottom line is watching LSU stink to West Virginia status because of NIL.
