If this is true it is an indication of our true state at wideout.

I would rather see the Saints spend money on a pass rusher or a guard but at this stage of free agency I doubt there is anyone worth going after unless a trade is involved. Just hope we don't throw money at another Browner type player.

And then it hit me like a ton of bricks.

Boldin's agent leaked that so one of the other two teams could raise their offer. Someone earlier noted that its obviously a money issue why he hasn't signed yet.

Were you at some point under the delusion that we have the 2011 Saints WR core ?

If not, then it would seem that you are making a snarky comment just for the sake of being snarky.

Saints receivers wearing wristbands devoted to Anquan Boldin - Niner Insider

From August 18, 2015

Boldin currently has 1009 catches, 13,195 yards, 74 TD's.

Last season with the 49ers he had 69 catches for 789 yards and 4 TD's

With Kaepernick and Gabbert throwing to him and basically no one else helping to draw the defenses' attention elsewhere his stat's were very close to Snead's and Watson's.

I think he could easily give us 800 yards and 5 TD's. Likely more.

Alot to like here for both Boldin and the Saints!

Despite his age, the Saints get a proven, and still productive vet who can provide leadership for the youngsters, and has a mutual respect/ love for WR Coach Morton.

Meanwhile, AQ gets to play under SP and with Drew, 2 of the best offensive minds in the game.

He'll also play most games indoors, which, healthwise, should be a plus.

As long as Boldin comes into TC healthy, IMO, it probably wont take him and Drew, the saavy vets they are, very long to get comfortable with each other. So he wont need as many practice reps as the younger WRs. All Coach Mo has to do is pace him; practice n play him as as needed.

And, BTW, he's coming from the NFC West, who we play this year.

Bottom line, can Anquan Boldin help make us a better team this season?

I say yes!

The New Orleans Times-Picayune disputes an NFL Network report that the Saints are pushing to sign free agent Anquan Boldin.
Some national reporters seem to get used by agents more than most. The Times-Picayune's Kat Terrell confirms the Saints "did look into" signing Boldin "earlier in the summer," but didn't so much as make Boldin a contract offer. A Boldin signing would have put a major dent into rookie Michael Thomas' sleeper appeal. As is, Thomas remains penciled in as Marques Colston's slot replacement.

Anyone else read this an awesomely passive-aggressive "Rappaport is an idiot"? :hihi:

If the Saints sign Boldin it will have nothing to do with Coleman, but cause they dont want to rush Thomas into a top 3 role. Coleman is gonna be the number 4 WR this year playing 20-25 snaps game and doing alot of the same things that Meachem did.

Boldin would be playing Colston role in the slot, which is what alot of Thomas snaps will come this year.
