Why would you say that? He hasn't played with anyone like a Brady, Brees, Rodgers...why would you not think he would at least match last year's output? I think he will surpass it, and be a leader on the field. Seriously, he had almost 800 yards playing on a dysfunctional team last year.
He was the #1 WR on a team that pretty much always played from behind and he'll be 36 years old.
The Niners actually had more passing yards last season than the two previous years but Boldin's numbers fell off by about 35%.
Most receivers that had that kind of drop off in production at that age I would say they are done. Boldin is kind of like a knuckle ball pitcher in baseball, losing a little speed isn't going to hurt as bad as most because speed is such a small part of their game. Then again, we all also saw what happened when a slow player lost a couple steps last season with Browner. The difference is defenses can't target Boldin and they still have to cover him, plus he can block.
So yeah, I think he is a guy that could come in, get 30-40 catches 500 yards, make a few tough 3rd down catches and be a productive blocker but most importantly can teach these young guys how to be a pro.
