Saints released Michael Thomas per Duncan; Thomas & Winston are Post-June 1 cuts (6 Viewers)

That is an article from LAST YEAR about his contract, where is the link where the Saints "officially" released him? THIS YEAR?
You had said that a team can't release a player on an expiring deal, the link shows that his deal isn't expiring.

I said where is his official release, this entire thread is about a reported release and the debate about where he is even currently under contract to be released as he signed a 1 yr deal last offseason.

Standing on other bad-faith pedantry*

The seats are gone, they’re not coming back, the concourses have been widened and the work is expected to all be done by August. Once it’s all finalized, I expect that they’ll update the actual capacity instead of continuing to use old data. For 2023, the Saints averaged 70,020 fans per game in 8 home games. Low attendance was 70,003 (week 4 vs TB, week 13 vs DET), high attendance was 70,072 (week 18 vs ATL). Your hypothesis that increased disillusionment with the team/coach/QB directly led to lower reported attendance simply doesn’t hold up - attendance increased despite the team’s late-season reduced likelihood of making the playoffs, with 70,009, 70,038, and 70,072 attending the remaining home games after tying the low mark of 70,003.

I pointed out that the actual stadium capacity just hasn’t been updated; that is much closer to accurate, as demonstrated in several news articles I previously shared with you, now borne out with a consistent number that suggests something closer to “consistently sold out” than “consistently filled only to exactly 95% capacity because the fans hate the coach but in a way that causes only a mere 5% attendance dip.” Both the 2022 season’s Superdome-only home game attendance average of 70,076 (there was a London game to factor out) and 2021’s Superdome-only home game attendance always being exactly 69,170 amidst Covid precautions (there was a “home” game played in Jacksonville to factor out) further support my claim that “attendance only dropped because the seats physically do not exist anymore, having been removed prior to the start of the 2021 season.”

You can make your donation to SR whenever’s clever for ya
I’ll be sure to make that donation once we see that uptick in attendance %.

When do they publish the final attendance numbers for the year? I don’t want the donation hitting you by surprise.

And in the post right before that you said he couldn’t be released because he was on an expiring contract. He isn’t.

As of last year, Thomas and the Saints agreed to an effective one-year deal with extra voidable years for cap purposes. The complex and very unique nature of the deal, per a source with knowledge of the terms, prevents the Saints from cutting him before the first day of the 2024 league year — and also requires that they release him on March 13.

Top 3 of all time at any position?? I mean everyone has their own, but that is a big stretch in my opinion. I mean man we're talking Brees of course, Roaf, all four of the dome patrol.... just to name a few
Yea he’s definitely not a top 3 Saint ever. Top 3 at the receiver yes, his numbers with Brees were great.

Top 3 Saint ever? lol no way

Theres so many Saints who had all time NFL careers as a Saint and bigger number of highly productive seasons as a Saint for a long time. He’s top 3 to fans of the player but not on a real list amongst all time franchise greats. Respectfully MT isn’t considered until after the top 15**. 2016-2019 full seasons #s aren’t enough compared to others. He was on his way to becoming top 3 but his career as a star Saints WR was rerouted.

Brees
Jackson
Roaf
Colston
Cam Jordan
Jahri Evans
Sam Mills
Kamara
Demario Davis
Wayne Martin

Eric Martin

No lies detected, Michael Thomas had a few good years, but to say that he was a team player. It was a bit of a stretch, just look at the Pedegree where he comes from, Keyshawn Johnson was the biggest prima donna in the league when he was productive, but the minute he didn’t get the ball he started crying like a little B%@ch. Personally, the minute Michael Thomas lost his luster with me, was when he sucker punched a teammate in practice. #bye-bye

Naw, he a hoe, too.
