But I know being delusionally optimistic is a built in feature/coping mechanism for most Saints fans.

What exactly do you want us to do is the question… just not sign anyone and go out there w a team like the movie Major League with the intention of losing as many games as possible all with the hope that the top draft pick will be the HoF level player? If you don’t think we are rebuilding, what would you be doing differently then?

We are actively improving and if we get becton and Samuel we are set up for a special draft away from winning the South.

2 teams are "garbage" and we are one of them. The Bucs have proven they are better than us and the Falcons are on an upward trajectory while we are on the downward.

The only team you can say for certain we are better than is the Panthers but even then it's close.

Curious about this. Not too familiar with BS's scheme. Does he like to swap safeties like DA?

Seem to remember reading something about him showing 2 high all the time then dropping 1 a lot. I'd guess Reid would be the drop on run and HB on pass? Reid is better at tackling and taking on blocks (run). HB probably better at the robber (pass).

There's a higher chance to rebuild through the draft than whatever the heck we are doing. 20 years of losing too many games we get into the playoffs and winning too many games to get an elite prospect doesn't sound much better.
