Seen some strange comments about the pay.

It say 12 mil over 3 years.
That's 4mil per year.
That's the 28th paid TE.
Less than what Juwan Johnson makes.
4mil is a drop in the bucket.

There aren’t many tight ends in the league who wouldn’t be a backup behind Darren Waller. Come on man.

Yes if used correctly could easily catch 45 with juwans 55-60. Anytime foster started his numbers were pretty solid

Huge pickup. He’s exactly the kind of TE we need. hand in dirt blocking first TE than can catch when everyone else is covered.

Seems like a lot, especially in guarantees, for a guy who might not play this season and is a back up.

He’s paid like a key contributor while its bottom top 30 TE money. May be a backup on the depth chart, but Foster will be 1b in targets and snaps with Juwan. Some games it’ll be even based on his versatility and his chemistry with Carr.

The turmoil of emotions that comes with the diagnosis of a life threatening illness is very real and profound (says the 4x heart attack survivor).

Him stepping away to reflect, get treatment, and re-evaluate, and then sign a contract within a span of months seems quick, but I'm sure a lot of serious soulsearching occurred in that time period.

I'm very happy that his prognosis is such that he felt signing here was a realistic option. That we thought his health was such that his likely contribution warranted the offer is even better.

I'm thinking more on the line of Johnson, Moreau and Wilson. Hill is not a TE and was most affective playing from under center. The Saints have upgraded the position with the additions of Moreau and young talent in Wilson and Krull, I do not see Hill being much of a factor in this bunch as he was never really an effective player at the position to begin with.

I think Coby Fleener was our only bad FA TE signing. Jared Cook was a great receiving option statistically, despite the fumble that cost us the playoff game.

My question is - is this two void years in addition to the already reported three year deal, or is this a one year deal with two void years at the end?
