Saints sign TE Foster Moreau to 3 year deal (1 Viewer)

My question is - is this two void years in addition to the already reported three year deal, or is this a one year deal with two void years at the end?
2 void years on the end of a 3 year deal is the only way the math works. $1.1 million base + $700k prorated bonus ($3.5 million/5 years).

Along with the cap #s mentioned above, Field Yates’ wording ‘tacking on’ reads as the void years are adding on to the reported length

I always thought David Thomas was a very good player and one of the most underrated players on our superbowl roster.

Great blocker and clutch receiver when it really mattered.
I haven't seen much of Moreau, is he a similar player to Thomas....if so, I'll take that.
David Thomas made Vince Young a hell of a lot of money in that natty. He was making catches fully horizontal 5 feet off the ground. We always need that David Thomas kind of TE. The last one we had was Josh Hill.

I think Coby Fleener was our only bad FA TE signing. Jared Cook was a great receiving option statistically, despite the fumble that cost us the playoff game.
No, he wasn't. Jared Cook did not do too well except for the first half of his first year with us. People loved that we signed him but not me. He was always getting hyped up only to wind up doing nothing. It took him 10 years just to finally have a decent season.

The 2nd half of Cook’s 1st year here is when his numbers actually increased compared to the 1st half. Cook wasn’t the target monster that Graham was, but he was a solid #2 option while the entire WR depth chart after Thomas was mostly invisible. Every other catch was a big yardage play and was a RZ threat. 15 ypc and 16 TDs in 2 years here is pretty solid. Maybe there was high expectations for him, but his production was good on less than 50 recs. I wish he would’ve gotten more targets.

They were hyping him up saying no one in the NFL can guard him. He didn't come close to living up to that.

I never paid much attention to what was said about him. He didn’t start taking off until he played with a great QB in his 8th season. He had avg-below avg QBs in Tennessee and St. Louis before that. He finally looked like a really good TE once he played with Carr and Brees and got targets. Those targets still wasn’t enough compared to what top TEs get. His second/last season with Carr is when he was finally targeted at a high rate and made his first Pro Bowl that year

I disagree. He did NOT look like a really good TE. He looked like he could be good, but he never got there IMO.

He looked average with V. Young, Collins and Bradford. 2018-2019 were the only seasons where he looked like a top TE later in his career with good QBs.

He might’ve been still grasping our offense in the 1st half of ’19, but he would’ve had a monster year if those 2nd half targets happened from week 1. He had a Pro Bowl selection in ‘19 mainly off of the 500+ yards and 7 TDs he had in the last 8 games of that season.
