Saints Training Camp Updates, Day 2, July 25th (1 Viewer)

Demario just playing politics, he knows DA is worthless as a leader just like everyone here does.
At least DA did some self-reflection during the off-season and has made changes that appear to be changing the perception of him to many of the players. Let's see if it makes a difference.

I do remember the salt tabs well... and if we were lucky, we would get a Gatorade break mid-practice. I don't know why it was, but in those days they didn't seem to want us to hydrate until AFTER practice, so I would practically drown myself drinking water prior to practice.

I remember being refused water and the one time they did let us have water, we had to drink it out of the spout after they took the hose off.

Actually Khalen, Magnesium works better for cramps. I was getting cramps almost every night for years even though I was knocking down bananas like a starved monkey in the Amazon... Then a Dr. told me to take magnesium supplements instead. I did, and the cramps stopped right away.

I’ve gotten mixed messages over the course of my life on this. High school HC coach used to tell us to eat bananas the day before games, college coach told us to eat one 3-4 days a week but NEVER the night before games. And here is Khalen saying to do it every day and now you saying it doesn’t work. 😂

I do know what worked for me. YMMV. :)

Interesting. It was sodium for me. I had always heard potassium, so I ate bananas and potatoes and it got worse.

So I went the other way and started eating more salt. Pickles, straight salt, etc. Cured it quickly. I guess it’s actually sodium/potassium balance that is more important than either individually, and I wasn’t getting enough sodium.

There were times if someone didn’t give 100% effort, then we wouldn’t get anything to hydrate.

I ate bananas and never stopped. Then I started keeping mustard packs in my bag. If I cramped up, then I would eat one of those packets

Interesting. What my Dr. told me was that a magnesium deficiency was causing my cramps, which were predominately in my calves, and was chronic. My doctor told me, "Take magnesium, either in combination (Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc), or standalone". I haven't had a problem with cramps since. I only take Mag caps every two or three days now, and have no issues. Potassium never did me any good at all, and these days I have to keep my salt intake down.

It might be something that varies from one person to another.

This, I know a few wellness doctors and Potassium/Sodium balance each other out. A deficiency in one or the other throws things off. Magnesium is a part of the triad but most people have an issue with the former two because diets tend to be excessive in salt or lacking in potassium and sometimes vice versa because doctors tell you, you have high BP so watch salt. People tend to over correct and stop eating salt and load up on potassium
